The basic animal interests require the same attention as the

human beings do. Animals should be treated better. They should

be seen like legal creatures, not just like food, clothes or
experiment objects. Therefore, animals should have rights.

Sri Aurobindo said: Life is life whether in a cat, or dog or man.

There is no difference there between a cat or a man. The idea of
difference is a human conception for mans own advantage.

Imagine that somebody closed you in a room and gives you just
food to grow up. Can you develop this way? Of course, no! You will
grow like an animal, because you cant receive the necessary
education. Now, ask yourself, why a pig cant live his life like you
do? Why his destiny has been written already?

You have the opportunity to live with your family. You can walk
free and go wherever you want. Then, why this little monkey was
taken from his family and is forced to stay in prison?

Pythagoras said: Animals share with us the privilege of having a

soul.

But sometimes animals show more soul than a man does. People
are treating animals how they want. They beat dogs, kill birds and
make jokes on cats. But these creatures have a life. You cant take
it just because you have a bad mood.

Every day I see poor dogs. They all were kicked out in street by
their owners. They have nothing to eat and dont have where to
sleep this winter. Just because people thought its too much work
to feed a dog. But, thats not all. Every day I see sick dogs. Some
of them have just three legs; others have wounds on their body.
Can you say that those who did this have soul? I cant.

Abraham Lincoln said: I am in favor of animal rights as well as

human rights. That is the way of a whole human being.

And I agree. Treat animals like you want to be treated and love
them like you love yourself, because inhumanitys essence is not
to hate animals, but to be indifferent about them.
