Atmosphere Diorama Project

Directions:
You will need to create a diorama depicting all 5 atmosphere layers
- Troposphere
- Stratosphere
- Mesosphere
- Thermosphere
- Exosphere

Time to complete the project:

- Day 1 (Not a whole entire class period)-
Introduction of the project
Organize class notes
Draw pictures, cut out pictures from magazines, etc.
Gather any additional materials you may want to use to bring to class
o Construction paper, small figures, clay, paint etc.

- Day 2- 45 min class period to work on your project

Homework: gather extra materials or pictures needed to finish your project

- Day 3- 45 min class period to work on your project

Homework: gather extra materials or pictures needed to finish your project

- Day 4- 45 min class period to work on your project

Homework: finish you project at home because it is due
next class!(Friday 10/3/14)!

All of the following need to be included in the project:

On a separate sheet of paper

General Information
* List the reasons that the atmosphere is important
* List the gases that are in the atmosphere
* Explain the importance of air pressure
* Group member names, Date & Period
On the inside of the box-
Title
Divide it into 5 parts (you may use less than 5 boxes)
* Use pictures and/or objects to visually describe that layer

On index cards on the outside of the box of each layer:

* Name of the Layer
* 4 special features or facts about that layer

All of the following materials will be provided:

- Crayon - Class notes (power point/handouts/foldables)
- Colored Pencils - Scissors - Construction Paper
- Rulers - Glue
