ERA Activation Related FAQs

ERA Activation Checklist:

ALCs are requested to ensure the following things before doing the ERA Activation:

1. Ensure latest updated antivirus is installed on WORM approved server machine (in
absence of antivirus software, activator exe file may get corrupt).
2. In case of Windows 2003 Server, please install WIC Component (Link to download:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-in/download/details.aspx?id=32). This is a prerequisite on
windows 2003 server for .NET framework.
3. Install Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 Extended (Link to download:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-in/download/details.aspx?id=17718).
4. ERA & OES must be installed on same server machine (WORM approved).
5. ERA Update 2.5 & 2.6 must be installed on server machine (WORM approved).
6. OES Update 3.4 & 3.5 must be installed on server machine (WORM approved).
7. Do not make any hardware change on WORM approved server machine.
8. ERA & OES login password must be same.
9. Ensure Server machine is connected on LAN.
10. Check if server date and time is properly set to Indian Standard Time (UTC+05:30 time
zone).
 Issue #1

OR

Solution:
1. ERA will get activated only on WORM approved machine. That means the machine you
are using for activation must be WORM approved. (No changes in server configuration
post WORM approval)
2. ERA and OES must be installed on WORM approved server only.
3. Your ERA and OES password must be same.
4. Your server date and time must be correct.
5. Please make sure that anti virus is installed on your server machine and Java version
should be jre 1.6.

If all the above criterias are satisfied but still you are facing the above mentioned error then you
need to follow the below mentioned steps for activation.
 For existing ERA Server:

Step 1: Go to below path:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 7.0\webapps\ERA\resources

\application

Step 2: Delete gateway.properties file.

Step 3: Run ERA activator.exe again and enter your center code and password.

Your issue will get resolved.

For new ERA Server:

If application folder is not available on server machine (C:\Program Files (x86)\Apache Software
Foundation\Tomcat 7.0\webapps\ERA\resources \application), in this case you need to follow the
below steps:

o Step 1: Kindly download the zip folder.

Zip folder: http://fileserver.mkcl.org/centerdownload/application.zip
Now unzip it, you will get the application folder.
o Step 2: Now copy the application folder to the below path.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat
7.0\webapps\ERA\resources
o Step 3: Run ERA Activator and try to re-do the proess of Activation using your user
name and password.
Your issue will get resolved.
 Issue #2

Solution: You must install the below mentioned .NET Framework before proceeding for
activation.

In case of Windows 2003 Server, please install WIC Component,

This is a prerequisite on windows 2003 server for .NET framework.

Install Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 Extended,

 Issue #3

Solution: You are getting this message as you have already activated ERA on a WORM
approved service machine. ERA cannot be activated in more than one machine in a center. To
handle this we will provide you one utility very soon.
 Issue #4

Solution:

For MS-CIT Center Renewal:

o Center must successfully complete Declare Computer Hardware through WORM
Software step in MS-CIT Center Renewal Process 2017
For MS-CIT New Center Registration:
o Center must complete MS-CIT New Center Registration Process 2017
 Issue #5

Solution: For the above mentioned issue machine must be connected on LAN.
