Essential Question: What are the roles of atoms in energy and heat transfer?
Objectives:
1. The addition of heat to a substance makes it change states of matter.
2. Taking away heat from a substance makes it change states of matter.
3. The two basic types of energy are kinetic and potential energy.
4. There are five (5) different types of energy at the atomic level.
5. The Law of Conservation of Energy applies to all systems. Energy may be released to
the environment through friction in the form of heat.
