2017 Fruit Tree Sale

sponsored by Ironwood Property Maintenance, Millbrook Ontario

Welcome to the inaugural Spring Fruit Tree sale. lf you would like to take advantage of great sale prices
on fruit trees, fruit bushes and canes, the order should go in before the end of February to ensure
availability. The best value for trees is 20mm thick and bare root (br) meaning, no soil attached to the root
zone. This will give you about a 6-7 foot tall tree that will quickly produce additional root mass if planted
and cared for correctly. This option is much cheaper than potted trees and much lighter and easier to
transport. There are a few things you have to keep in mind with bare root stock. Ill give you an
instruction sheet with your order to help you get started.

There are a few things about the price list: youll notice a Zone rating beside the trees, we are in Zone
4 but some Zone 5 will grow here if given protection from the winter winds. Remember, the further north
you are located the lower the Zone number e.g. Sudbury = Zone 2, Cavan = Zone 4 and Niagara = Zone 6.
Also in some cases youll see something like (5m x 5m) which indicates how high and wide the tree will
be at maturity. (Helpful when finding a planting spot with enough room). Some fruit varieties are self-
pollinating but they will benefit from cross-pollination if you plant two varieties (two cultivars) close to
each other (25 feet spacing). Full sun is recommended for fruit trees.

Be advised, there are a limited number of trees available and its a first come first serve basis. So, they
may not have your exact choice. Sometimes they can offer a reasonable substitute of the same species.
When sending me your order by e-mail Also, please list it as follows:

# of trees, species, size, unit price and total cost (HST is applicable on totals)

Example: 1 Cortland apple tree 20 mm br $30 - total $30

2 Idared apple trees 20 mm br $30 - total $60 (and so on)
Grand Total = $90 + HST

In order to help me with your order, Id like to suggest a deposit of about the total amount or payment
in full if you prefer. Ill make up an excel sheet so I can keep track of things. I can give you a receipt if
necessary or refund if they are out of stock for what youve selected. Payment can be made through e-
funds transfer at my email at seangillen@nexicom.net with the password delicious. Also, if you could
include a contact number and general location (Millbrook, Cavan etc.) that would be helpful. Ill pick the
order up in early May and notify you when you can come to get the trees.

I can plant the trees for you as well if you prefer. This includes fertilizing with bone-meal, watering in,
staking, and some mulch. Price TBD based on size and number etc. If youd like to plant yourself thats
great too. Ill give you some tips thatll help you along.

Thanks very much

Sincerely

Sean Gillen
