Support the Principal in all aspects of school development, in particular employing


analytical auditing skills to constructively evaluate and coordinate the improvement of

RESPONSIBLITIES:
Assist in Counselling of HIV infected or affected clients at URC supported sites and
outreach activities to include counselling and testing, adherence counselling and
psychosocial support counselling
Providing counselling supervision, mentorship and on the job training for all the clinical
and counselling staff at URC supported health facilities
Ensuring that the optimal standard of counselling is achieved by establishing and
maintaining the use of nationally approved counselling guidelines and protocols and with
the help of the Clinical Adviser, updating your knowledge of HIV/AIDS Counselling
practices
Together with the Clinical Adviser (CA) identify, assess and implement HIV counselling
and follow up services at selected health facilities in Enugu State and beyond
To ensure the quality of counselling services at all URC supported facilities and
activities. This will be done through the implementation of quality assurance systems to
include counselor support supervision, counselor self assessment, development of site
assessment checklists, regular support mentorship visits, data collection systems support ,
quality control in conjunction with the laboratory adviser and development of strong
cadre of counselors at URC supported sites
Prepare a monthly work plan detailing proposed objectives, activities and costs for HIV
Counselling at URC supported facilities adhering to overall programme budgets and
Strategic Work plan
Prepare monthly reports on the implementation of the URC HIV Counselling programme
and submit and discuss this with the Clinical Adviser
Guide the strategic direction of the HIV counselling programme for the URC HIV project
To coordinate under the guidance of the CA, training programmes for clinical and non
clinical staff in counselling aspects of Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission
(PMTCT), testing for HIV, adherence to therapy and all other allied HIV counselling in
clinical and non clinical settings
Ensure that individual, organizational (URC), state and the national capacity to undertake
HIV are enhanced. This will be done through the preparation of regular technical briefs to
be shared at all four levels as appropriate
To represent the Clinical Adviser in technical working groups at state and national levels
when called upon
Directly responsible to the HIV Clinical Adviser and overall to the Chief of Party
Works in collaboration with other members of the URC team
