spring with an indescribable burden
on our hearts; a burden that seemed
to increase almost hourly. We were
feeling the responsibility of doing
more, and more, to spread the Gos-
pel to the un-reached portions of the
earth. It seemed as though a heavy
cloud of anointing rested on us day
and night during those four weeks
in which the Spirit was chartering
our future course for greater world
evangelism.
DOORS ARE FAST CIBSING TO
MISSIONARIES IN FOREIGN

W e are thankful for what we have
been privileged to do, but we realize that
more MUST be done, and that quickly!
The doom which are closing to the mis-
sioltatdes have caused us great coltcm,
and the hunger of the heathen for the
Gospel has cried out to us night and day.
All these things, we took to the Lord in
prayer, and asked Him what we could do
t o speed the Gospel to every nation, tribe,
kindred and tongue, in a greater way.
As we waited upon Him, H e began to
talk to our hearts unfolding a plan which
will certainly accomplish much toward
getting the Gospel of the Kingdom to
the uttermost part of the earth.

This is the plan: T o make'it possible
for hundreds of native preachers all' over
the world to become pioneer missionaries
to the unreached tribes and -areas of
their own countries. by giving them the
monthly assistance necessary; just as .we
do in sending out missionaries from the
United States.

the need for this plan. Two thirds of her
population is made up of pure-blood prim-

steeped in the very depths of the most
heathen paganism. . ' .
NATIVE MISSIONARY IS EQUIPPED
WITH LANCUAGE; BUT NEEDS
. FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
Because of constant :trade with the
Spanish people, by these Indians, scores
of the Spanish preachers speak these In-
dian Dia1,ects fluently and understand

complish infinitely more, ministering to
them, than the best white missionary, f o r
a tenth of the financial support. But there
has, heretofore, been no means by which
the Spanish preachers could be supported
in pioneer missionary ministry among
these tribes

fectively invade these areas with the
Gospel, if they are supported long enough
to establish their work on the indigenous
basis.
NATIVE MINISTERS WILL BE SUP-
PORTED THROUGH ESI'ABLISIFFD
FULL GOSPEL ORGANIZATIONS
Through the Full Gospel organizations
which are ahead established on the dif-
ferent fields of t t e world, and under the
direction of a board of capable adviiors,
native preachers, who are definitely called
of God, anointed of the Holy Ghost, and
who have a burning passion for souls,
will be sent to these unreached tribes of
their own countries by giving them a
small monthly financial assistance. This
assistance will be given to these native
pioneer preachers only for such a time
as is absolutely necessary for their work
to become indigenous and self supporting.
When this goal has been attained, this
assistance will be given to another, or a
pastor will be put over these Christians,
and the pioneer preacher will go on t o
another area, where the Gospel is not
known, and proclaim Christ, with signs
following.
This assistance will be grant& through
through the Field Supervisors f o r the
Full Gospel organizations, under, whose
supervision these native preachers are
being assisted.
Already we have contacted over a
dozen Field Supervisors, whom we know
personally, whose fields-we know, and
whose native workers we know. The re-
sults thus far have been most gratifying!
Since we knew this plan was of God,
we believed it would be an error not t o
work, as far as possible, with the Full
Gospel organizations we are acquainted
with here in the States: therefore, vie
decided to meet with the Foreign Missions
Boards of these organizations. W e have

met with the Church of God a t Cleveland,
Tennessee, and with the Assemblies of
God in Springfield, Missouri. Both of

given it their warmest approval. Space
does not permit my giving the details of

both of these meetings.

I KNOW GOD A N S W E R S P R A Y E R !
First of all, because He says He mil
answer prayer, and H e Us the God of
Truth, He cannot lie. (Titus 1:2) H e
says Call unto me and I will answer
thee. (Jeremiah 33:3.)
I know God answers prayer because
Jesus, Gods only begotten Son, prayed
and not only prayed but taught His fol-
lowers to pray!
I know God answers prayer. because,
Gods own Book, the Holy Bable as a
record of answered prayer! God moved in
Clays of old in answer to the prayers of
His people and He moves today in answer
to the prayers of His people. Things h a p
lien when people pray!
Very briefly let us consider some things
that happened when people prayed. Jacob
Prayed and his whole nature, even his
very name was changed-no longer was
he Jacob-the Supplanter, but Israel,
the Prince. (Genesis 32:28.)
Elijah prayed and there was no rain
on the earth f o r the space o f three Years
and s i x months. He prayed and God t
rain. Elijah was a man of like passions
as we are. (James 5:17.)Faith in Elijahs
God will bring answer to prayer today!
Hezekiah, the king, lay sick-nigh unto
death. The. prophet Isaiah came to him
and told him he would die and not live,
but Hezekiah turned his face to the wall
and prayed and God saw his tears and
heard his cries and added to his days
fifteen years! (11 Kings 20.) I know God
answers prayer!
The three Hebrew Children prayed and,
when they were cast into the furnace,
there was a Fourth who walked in the
fire .withthem and they came f o r t h w i t h
out the smell of fire on thecr garments.
(Daniel 3.) Oh yes, I know God answers
prayer!
Daniel dared to pray to the God of
Heaven, when it was a forbidden thing-
H e was thrust into the lions den, but

long while the King knew no rest, Daniel
sweetly rested in the assurance that God
answers prayer!
W h a t child of God has not had the joy
of coming to the very end of his own
power, strength, resources, ability, maybe
even life itself, and having God come on
the scene and, in answer to prayer, give
glorious victory! My God hath inter-
vened! My God closed the mouths of
the lions! My God made the fire power-
less to burn! My God sent His angel to
open the door of the prison! My God
caused the poisonous serpent to drop
powerless into the flame!
Jesus prayed a t the tomb of Lazarus.
H e lifted His eyes to His Father and
thanked Him that H e heard prayer, that
He altoays heard prayer and then H e
commanded Lazarus to come forth from
the tomb. Death lost his prey when the
Prince of Life spoke! God answers prayer!
The disciples of our Lord prayed. W e
find that, when one hundred and twenty
of them prayed, the wffole place where
they were was shaken and the mighty
Holy Spirit of R n m i s e descended and
indwelt each of them, and they were able
to go forth under His anointing and win
multitudes f o r Christ! God answers
prayer!
The early church prayed! In every time
of difficulty and testing;. in mry hard
p e e , thsy praged! Herod the King was .
vexing the Church. James had been killed
with the sword, Peter was in prison but
prayer w a s made by the church and
Peter chained, sleeping between two sol-
diers and with the keeper of the door on
guard, m loosed by the angel of God
and went f o r t h t o join his brethren (Acts
12). Friend, bound in the prison-of fear,
of doubt, of pain and sickness, of heart-
ache and disappointment and bitterness,
let God send His angel to you! I know
God answers prayer!
Church History is merely a record of
answered prayer! Every great Revival
this world has ever known is the result of
God answering somebodys prayer-the
result of Gods answering the fervent,
effectual, persistent, prevailing prayer of
His children-His church!
The Reformation was born in Martin
Luthers prayers-the great Wesley Re-
vivals came because of the prayers of the
Wesleys and their friends, who dared to
believe God. Listen, and hear John Knex
cry God give me Scotland o r I die and
look a t God sending a revival that swept
not only Scotland, but England and
Wales!
The great Revivals of the twentieth
century are Gods answers to prayers of
His children! Oh. yes, friend, I know God
answers prayer and the more you pray,
the more I pray, the more God will be
able to do! Chains of sin, sickness, of af-
fliction, of demon oppression, obsession
and possession-all the power and forces
of Satan-are ne match for the p@wer
there lies in believing prayer, b&ause

Jesus said to his disciples, Ill give you
power and authority! He looked a t Peter
and said-
peter, upon your confession of
faith that I am the Son of the Liz;-
ing God (because you see in me the
Rock upon which God promised to
build the church of the living God),
I will gave unto you the keys t o the
Kingdom of heaven,
Whatsoever you bind on earth, shall
be bound in heaven, and whatsoever
you loose o n earth shall be loosed a n
/Leaven. (Matt. I S : 15-19,)
I t was my happy privilege to visit
Rome, Italy, a couple of years ago, along
with many of the other countries in Eu-
rope, on an expedition over there. As I
stood in St. Peters Bacilica in the Vati-
can in Rome, I stood right over the golden
altar, where they claim the bones of St.
Peter were laid. I saw the Catholic Pil-
grims there, as they were coming in f o r
Holy Year from all over the world. I saw
them kiss the golden altar. I saw them
bow on their knees by the thousands. to
worship the Shrine where they say the
Apostle Peter is buried. I talked to some
of them and, 01 course. you know they
believe that Peter was the first Bishop
(or Pope) of Rome.
They believe that he held the keys to
the Kingdom in his hands and that he,
in turn, passed them to the succeeding
Bishop, then each Bishop, in turn, through
the years, has passed them on down
through the Catholic church, until now-
they believe that Pope Pius presently has
the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven!
When he passes away, he will pass the
keys on to the next successor.
P E T E R A N D O T H E R S GIVEN K E Y S
TO T H E KINGDOM
I heard them tell this story over and
over. then-in the best English I could
speak-to a poor Italian Priest, I said, as
I looked a t him with such compassion in
my heart, My Dear Brother, if the Apos-
tle Peter ever was in Rome, and I dont
think he nor they can even prove that,
(I wanted to give him just a little bit of
insight into real Christian History), He
was not a pastor of a Roman Catholic
Church. If he was ever in Rome, he was
the pastor of the First Pentecostal Church
of Rome, Italy, because the Apostle Peter
received the keys to the Kingdom on the
Day of Pentecost. And, when he received
the keys to the Kingdom, one hundred
and nineteen ( l l 9 ) others received them
with him.
To me, it is perfect audacity to say that
Peter held the Keys to the Kingdom in
his hand, and then went out and denied
his Lord. He didnt even get the Keys,
until the day of Pentecost.
I looked again a t that Italian Priest
and said, My Dear Brother, the Keys
to the Kingdom were not buried there
with the bones of Peter (as some might
believe or imply they believe). nor are
they in the hands of any ONE man to-
day! The Keys to the Kingdom a r e in the
hands and within the grasp of every man
or woman, who has been filled with the
blessed Holy Ghost and commissioned by
God to preach the unsearchable riches of
Jesus Christ!
AUTHORITY IS GIVEN THROUGH
HOLY GHOST
I believe that we are chosen and or-
diined, andgiven Divine Authority by God
Himself! I believe that that authority is
not within ourselves, but it is in the Holy
Ghost, within us!

The authority that Jesus gave, He gave
through the power of the Holy Spirit,
for He said-
I go away, birtl will sevid y o u an-
otlier Comforter. When He is conte;
He will abide with you forever.
(John 1 0 : 7 ; 14:16)
And He further said-
The things that I now do, shall Ye
do, and greater works shal!, ye do,
because I go t o nty Father. (John
14:12)
The reason he went to His Father was
to send us the power, the dynamite. the
glory, and the authority of Pentecost!
My friends, when that power came, every
thing that Jesus did became Dossible for
His Followers to-do, not through their own
strength, but THROUGH THE POWER

I S ALL SUFFICIENT
I am a firm believer that anything can
happen when the power of the Holy G h s t
is present, and that not much will happen
when the anointing of the Holy Ghost is
not there. I believe that none of the gifts
of the Holy Spirit will operate without
the direct anointing of the Holy Ghost
to operate them and I believe, friends,
that when the anointing of God is upon
a congregation a t the same time the
anointing of God is upon the individual
ministering to them, anything can and
will happen! And nearly everything does
happen! I believe, however, that Jesus
Christ deserves the glory and the credit.
The power of the Holy Ghost is our all
sufficiency!
From the hour that great truth was
revealed to me, I have seen this ministry
grow. It has not been instantaneous. We
have grown in the Lord from the hour He
began this work in us. He spoke to each
o f us and, oh! the thrill of having God
I sDeak to vour heart! Too. there are many

God has impressed us, without speaking
audibly, by an inward voice o r an inward
impression. He has told us things that

I shall never forget one such instance
in California. As I sat meditating on the
Lord, .before I went into the service. God
spoke to me and said, There is a woman
here today who has a.number of tumors
in her body, and Im going tolheal her.
When I stepped out to preach that night,
I looked the audience over and said. in
my heart, God, who is i t ? I then said
to the congregation, God tells me that
there is someone here with a number of
tumors in your. body. If you wi1l;:come
forward, God will heal you. No one
came. I began to look around and .said
within myself, Oh. God! I know you haye
spoken. Who is it? Then God showed.me
a,-large woman and said, That woman
has the tumors in her body.
I called her forward and said, Sister,
you know that I do not Know you, isnt
that true? She said, Yes, that is true!
I then said,-TheSpirit of .God,has shown
me that you have a number of tumors in
your body, and ,God,is going to. heal you
today. Can you believe it? She said, :yes,
I do! I then, prayed for her and .went
ahead and preached my sermon.
,. :After :service was dismissed and f w a s

me again and said, Go back and tell that
woman to tell her doctor when those tu-
mors leave her body. I went back and
instructed her as the Spirit had told me.

Oh, Glory to.God! This is .the day of
revival! This is Gods hour of restoration.
T h i s is the moment when the Spirit of. the
Lord is moving wherever He can find a
heart that is open to Him! This is the
day of visitation from on high! T h e day
when Gods Glory is being revealed! Sure-
ly those who know their..God shall do ex-
ploits in His -name! This is the day of
Gods power! T h i s is the day for the
Church to arise-to put .on the clothing
God has prepared for her, and go forth
and conquer.all the works of the enemy;
for THEGATES O F HELL SHALL NOT
PREVAIL AGAINST THIS SPIRITUAL
CHURCH O F JESUS CHRIST! When
she i s fully. armed, with the power and
the glory of God,.the devil will have to
rim!
Thank God! Im glad Im living in these
glorious hours, when the Holy Ghost is
being poured out upon all flesh, and the
gifts of the Spirit are being restored to
the Church of Jesus Christ.
God has done nothmg for and through
one man that He ,will not do through an-
other, who will pay the price. God is still
l o o k k g f o r num andwomen who will be
wholly yislded to Him, who will not touch
the glory,. but will give H i m the praise
and the glory!,All honor, glory and praise -
belongs to Him! ,Only through His.nume
can any of us do anything! We cannot rob
o r cheat Him, of His glory, Hfs money, or
praise; and we must live a life humble
before God-to6, have Hls power and bless-
ing!
God is looking today for such men.

During the Beaumont revival, heavy
rains sent rivers, both to the east and
west of the city, out of their banks, clos-
ing highways, threatening homes; and
!caving many homeless in the surround-
ing area, which normally would have
been included in the area of the meeting.
.%me parts of the city itself were flooded.
Water flooded into the tent lot to such
an extent that it was necessary to pump
water from under the tent into the storm
sewers for several hours with three large
centrifugal pumps. Yet the tent was pack-
ed to near capacity, people sitting with
their feet in' water, fervently worshiping
God. Response to the altar calls was so
great, that on 'some nights there was
hardly room in,the prayer tent for a suf-
ficient number of personal workers to
deal with the seekers.

ioned Camp Meeting Style, the name
Gayle Jackson has become one of a Cham-
pion of all that Pentecostal people hold

I sat through four weeks of Salvation
and Divine Healing Revival meetings con-
ducted by Evangelist Gayle Jackson.
During these four weeks I witnessed
wonderful realities of transformation made
vivid before us by the Word of God.
Very few have taken time to study this
present day working sf the Holy Spirit
through pis servwts. Many base their criti-
cisms upon snap judgment made after an
attendance at a single meeting. I confess I,
too, was a bit skeptical for quite some
time. However, after attending the Gayle
Jackson meetings, I am fully convinced
this is the moving of God.
I have seen crossed eyes straightened,
blinded eyes opened, cancers disappear. I
saw people from my own church delivered
from binding habits and saved through the
blood of Jesus.

Polio Victim Drops

ern Michigan for a campaign May 3 to
31, 1953. Gods blessing was upon the
meeting from the first night, as souls
were saved. As the meeting continued,
many souls were saved each night, and
a goodly number received the Baptism
of the Holy Spirit.
Many were healed of various physical
ailments.
One lady u~jcshealed of a bone condi-
tion in her back which had hindered her
doing her work for a number of years.
As she stood in the prwer line, the
Lord touched her. She returned to her
seat completely healed!
One woman who had been deaf in one
ear f o r 8 years, due to a dead nerve,
had her hearing restored and now hears
perfectly.
A little girl who had had polio 4 years
before, and was unable t o walk or to
even stand without crutches, left her
crutches and walked away.
Intestinal and hip trouble, left from
child birth-Gall bladder trouble and
Arthritis are now gone. Some were even
healed by their radio as we broadcast the
service.
Under the anointed ministry of Broth-
e r and Sister Park the Church was edi-
fied. Their one aim seemed to be to see
souls won to Christ. Eternity alone will
tell o f the lasting results of this meeting.

Likewise, every evangelist who is called
of God wonders: When I leave this
place will the pastor care for the con-
verts to Christ? Will he help them? Is

as I left Iron River. It was a privilege
to be able to leave that city with the
knowledge that the converts to,Christ were
in the hands o f Brother and Sister
Moody, who are sincerely payin the price
to shepherd the flock of the f o r d . The
Deliverance message is not stilled in Iron

HEARING RESTORED!

A child crippled two years ago
by polio dropped her crutches and
began to walk unassisted last week
at the Iron River Assembly of God
church during a salvation and faith
healing service conducted by a
southern evangelist, i t was reported
today by the pastor of the church,
Rev. Howard L. Moody.
He identified the child as the
eight-year-old daughter of a Trout
Creek widow, Mrs. Claude Coot-
ware. The evangelist, Rev. Russell
Park, encouraged the girl to walk
without her crutches. She did so and
followed him a s he walked down
the aisle and circled the interior of
the church which was filled with
200 persons, Rev. Moody said.
Has this little girl been able to
walk without her crutches? Rev.
Park inquired of the m$her. Not
more than a step or two, answered
the mother.
The pastor said the Covtware girl
left her crutches behind her in the
church as a testimonial of the pow-
e r of faith to heal at the services
which Rev. Park is conducting
nightly at 7:30 p.m. Rev. and Mrs.
Park are staying a t a Hagerman
lake cottage secured for them by
Rev. Moody.

our American churches a revival:
-frequently describes a local evange-
listic effoi-l which i n Britain would
be called a campaign. We often
see notices to theeffect that S o -

and-So will hold a revival! in Such-
and-Such a place. This is quite a
good meaning, and we all hope that
the effort will truly revive the, local,
work of God. But I think that
throughout the whole English-speak-
ing world we still mean by a Re-
vival a deep. ividqsprcad return.

gionalscale. This is the sense in
which we refer to the Welsh Re-
, vival of 1904.
We are living in an.era, one al-
most said a phase, of the Pentecos-
. tal Movement when a great number
of campaigns are being conducted
by gifted individual evangelists in
many parts of the world. Most of
them feature divine healing and
have that as their main attraction.
- Some of these campaigns run to
mammoth proportions and are ac-
companied by almost every con-
ceivable form of organization aiid
publicity beforehand, and while the
campaign is in progress. As a result,
huge crowds of u p - to 10,000 .or
15,000 people are recorded, in which
very .large numbers signify some
form of acceptance of Jesus Christ
as a Saviour, and whole cammuni-
tics are made conscious of the
claims of religion. He would be a
churl indeed who did not rejoice in
these things and reco nize their
value in the Kingdom ofGod. Last-
i n g personal work is done in many
hearts and lives; the local churches
!I have their zeal re-kindled and. in
.I many ways. there is a reviving of

local spiritual life.
But loosely to speak of such cam-,
paigns as a Revival in the full

mistake a gaping, curious crowd. o r
a healing-seeking crowd. for a deep
work of Gods Spirit. Our Lord
knew differently i n Bcthsaida or
Chorazin (iMatt. 1 1 : 2 1 ) . What we do
not seem sufliciently to ycognize
is that our * self-styled revival
often is limited to the passing ex-
citement of some special meetings
largely centering around the per-
sonality of the special preacher. We
cannot escape the acid test of how
much remains i n the way of last-
ing accessions to the Church when
our campaign is all over and the
preacher has moved on. That is
the final criterion. A disappoint-
ment on this line is not necessar-
. ily a criticism of the evangelist. He
may have done his part nobly and
well. But it underlines the fact that
a campaign, however temporarily
successful, is NOT a Revival. We
need something deeper. When a
whole community is touched by a
true Revival it often is true that
almost all the features of the spe-
cial campaign are absent or ob-
literated. Writing about the Revival
in San Salvador, hlrs. Ruth Steel-
berg says that after the evangelist
had moved on-The Revival mn-
tinues, with two meetings each day.
At least 100 profess conversion in
every service. I t doesnt seem to
matter who preached: the results
are the same. From all over the Re-
public come reports of people who
have been miraculouslv healed.
Notice particularly the significant

think that nearly always marks R e

conviction of sin, and a hunger,
which found expression in crowded
meetings. Perhaps the outstanding
feature of the movement was a
deep hunger after God. Meetings
were held during the day, and right
through the night, in the church,
in the homes of the people, and out
in the open.
I trust nobody will be so foolish
as to think that I am disparaging
campaigns. Very often they thrill
my soul, and I have seen the great
and lasting good they can, and
often do, accomplish. For pioneer
missionary work they have a unique
and unrivaled value. May the Lord
bless and use our brave evangelists
while we give them our loyal and
unstinted support. But I am sure
that we shall not be satisfied with
anything less than true Revivals i n
every land. And, by that, we mean
a deep and wide working of Gods
Holy Spirit in answer to prayer,
until the whole spiritual atmo-
sphere is charged with a power
that convicts men of sin and of
righteousness and of judgment. B y
