WHO CAN JOIN?

Teens between the ages of 16-18 living in Spanish
Lake, MO (63138 zip code).

HOW MANY HOURS OF WORK?

The program runs for 23 weeks from April-October.
Teens work 2 days per week afterschool during
Spring & Fall sessions plus 4 days per week during
Summer session. Teens are paid $7.70 - $8.50/hour
depending on the session.

HOW CAN I APPLY?

Visit the Farm website and fill out an application!
Paper applications will also be available at Youth on
the Rise, Hazelweood East High School, Oak Park &
Spanish Cove apartments.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

GROWING FOOD
Teens learn how to grow produce on our
suburban farm, participate in a series of
culinary workshops & teach younger kids how
to prepare healthy meals.

GROWING COMMUNITY
Teens sell the produce they grew at our
weekly farm stand, attend monthly
community dinners & connect with other
young farmers in the area.

GROWING LEADERS
Teens learn self-empowerment tools, gain
job holding skills, meet with local change-
makers & teach community workshops.

ABOUT THE FARM

The Seeds of Hope Farm was established in 2012 when
the Community Action Agency of St. Louis County began
addressing issues of food insecurity in Spanish Lake. The
farm currently provides fresh, healthy, organically grown
vegetables to families through its tiered Community
Supported Agriculture (CSA) program, farm stands,
nutrition education workshops & events.
