to reveal evil in people, society in the island, and death of innocence.

II. Body Paragraph #1

A. Topic sentence: A lot of thing happens in the story so the life in the
island forces them to be savages and shown evil
B. Supporting evidence:
i. Ralph start hunt pig
ii. Ralph want the beast to kill littluns instead of come to kill him
iii. ralph betray piggy by tell his name to other people
iv. jack kill mother pig
C. Clincher sentence: Golding showed that good people can change to be evil
when the situation force them to do or the society make them to change like other people.

more savage they becomes.

i. responsibility of each people (jack tripe vs ralph tripe ) and (beginning of
the story vs at the end) do not look after the signal fire so the ship passed

iii. catch ralph (normal people will come to talk with each other but all the
boys just use the violent ) like they hunt pig

iii. Effect of war (in the end of the war that they explain about the navy that

C. Clincher sentence: they should aware that violent not only make people have
argument and decrease regression yourself but it also harm to other people that didnt
involve in the situation.

the violent. From all of the reason and evidences, it accomplishes that the boys becomes

savages by the violence from the action throughout this novel. Also, Golding tried to say that

evil is always innate in people so the violent is just the little part that come to make it show

cant take it back.

Development of violence

Lord of the flies the best seller novel in

A lot of thing terribly thing happens in the story so it forces them to be savage and

show evil in human. When Ralph starts to hunt pig although he thinks hunt pig show

uncivilized in people at the beginning of story but after he is accused of being scaring of the

beast and not proper to be a leader. He proves himself by joining a group of hunter. Also, he

is the only one who can stab on pig so he is overcome with the filling of victory. This is the

first time that Ralph shows the evil inside of him because he breaks down his civilize.

Moreover, Golding says Jack was on top of the sow, stabbing downward with his knife. The

spear moved forward inch-by-inch and terrified squealing became a high-pitch

scream.(p.135). This event reveal brutal and violent of Jack that overpower by the evil. He

seems to be the violence guy at first but it isnt shown off. After he has conflict with Ralph

about hunt pig is more important than signal fire, he leaves the group and make his own tribe,

which make evil exist in Jack. Evil inside Jack is different from everyone because he uses

violence to hide his weakness of being inferior to ralph and fear of the beast not for just fun.

Furthermore, Ralph say his real names Piggy! (p.21). As Ralph promises to piggy that

he will not tell Piggys real name to everyone because his secret reason from the old world

but lastly Ralph break this promise by telling everyone in the meeting. This also demonstrates

of how people show their nature evil by use mental violent. At this point, the crack of nature

evil inside Ralph is beginning to indicate. Lastly, the evil always exist in every people no

matter what age you are or place that you come from. It will show off

The longer they're on the island, the more savage they become. At the beginning of

the story, all boys behave like a normal people as they were home. They use the conch and

make the signal fire for being rescue. This show the way of civilize people do and make them

still acting civilized. But after Jack brings the violence to the boys by start to hunt pig instead

of look after the fire, it makes them miss the helping from the ship that passed the island. This

situation is important because it shows that when people ignore rule and their responsibility,

it will bring out more violent. Roger stooped, pick up a stone, aimed , and threw it at

henry..was the taboo of the life. (p.62) Golding explains. In the early of the story, Roger is

hit the littluns by throwing the rock but he still feels his old civilized life that remain the

punishment so he trys to not hit them directly. As time pass, in chapter 11 Roger has change

to be more savage because he changes to the new society that is used to the violent and not

have any effects for doing wrong thing. This makes Roger kills Piggy by pushing the huge

rock from the top of castle rock into Piggy without any guilty. Similarly to the situation that

Jack hunts Ralph because jack afraid about if ralph is still in this island, it will make the boys

change their mind and go back to Ralph. So Jack forces everyone to go hunting including

littlun. According to the word conformity that express the idea why littun follow older boys

because if they arent join the group of hunter, this will make there life harder to survive in

the island.

Violent is the powerful part that destroyed the innocence of childhood. When they are

arrive on the island, they act like a 10-12 years old boys that wish their dad will come to

helping them. As the time pass, everything has change. Golding says At once the crowd

surged after it, poured down the rock, leapt on to the beast ., and no movement but the

tearing of teeth and claws.(p.153). This passage describes when Simon is going down from

the top of mountain to tell the truth about the beast. While, Simon is walking along to the

beach, the rain is falling down and the song is too loud so it makes everyone hard to aware

what is going on around them. This makes all of the boy think Simon is the beast so they

murder Simon without examine very carefully. The quote shows us that they let the violent

become a huge part of their feeling to make decision. Also, this murder is the end of

innocence in all the boys because they begin to kill each other without conscience.

Nevertheless, in the end of chapter 12, when the officer comes to rescue and he asks there are

any death in this island. This question make all of the boys start to cry and ralph answers to

the officer that there are two death. The officer is very shock to know that the boys are all

change to be savage since they are only 2 and plus. According to the officer says I should

have thought that a pack of British boy.I mean (p.202) , this quotation make every

children more clear about what have they become when they pull down their civilize and use

the violence unreasonable.

In conclusion, the strongest theme in the novel is the violent. From all of the reasons

and evidences, it accomplishes that the boys become savage by the violence from the action
