Shelters = Living in emergency or transitional shelters
Sharing = Sharing the housing of other persons due to loss of housing, economic hardship or a similar reason; "doubled-up" Other = Living in cars,
parks, campgrounds, public spaces, abandoned buildings, substandard housing, bus or train stations Motels = Living in hotels or motels.
AFC = Awaiting foster care placement
Unaccompanied No = Homeless and in the physical custody of a parent or legal guardian
Unaccompanied Yes = Homeless AND NOT in the physical custody of a parent or legal guardian, i.e., an Unaccompanied Homeless (Child or) Youth
* The total number of homeless students identified in the state may differ slightly from the number reported to the US Departmen of Education, because a small number of students moved
temporatily to another school district due to their homeless situation and are thus counted as homeless by both districts. The report to the US Department of Education requires an unduplicated
count for the state.
