TO AFFIRM ALLEGHENY STUDENT GOVERNMENTS COMMITMENT FOR REFORM IN THE TITLE IX PROCESS

OF ALLEGHENY COLLEGE

JASON FERRANTE, GILLIAN GREENE, MARK MACSTUDY SUBMITTED THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION

RESOLUTION
TO AFFIRM ALLEGHENY STUDENT GOVERNMENTS COMMITMENT FOR REFORM IN THE TITLE IX PROCESS

WHEREAS Allegheny Student Government is committed to ending campus sexual assault and violence, as it threatens not only
the victims, but all members of our community,

WHEREAS, the Allegheny College Statement of Community provides that every student is entitled to an, inclusive, respectful,
and safe residential learning community,

WHEREAS it is the duty of the Dean of Students Office, the Office of Public Safety, and the Title IX Office (among other
administrators) to reform campus policy to end campus sexual assault and violence,

WHEREAS Allegheny College has faced investigations under the Federal Department of Education Clery Act,

WHEREAS it is the duty of Allegheny Student Government to advocate for reforms on behalf of the students we represent,

BE IT RESOLVED BY ALLEGHENY STUDENT GOVERNMENT HERE ASSEMBLED that we call upon and will
continually work with the Dean of Students Office, Office of Public Safety, and Title IX Office, among other administrators, to
continually advocate for reform in the Title IX process, and work to ensure that Allegheny College is a campus where students
can feel safe from threats of sexual assault and violence, in accordance with our Statement of Community.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT we call upon and will work with the above listed administrators to advocate for greater
education about the Title IX process and related matters.
