World Leaders' Project Summary 2017

University and Careers:

Interview and Presentation Skills, Debating and Public Speaking
The programme encompasses a 15 night stay in the UK and may include:

University Access How to select the most suitable University and course: Students identify their
personal strengths and wishes for future careers. They research University
courses, their requirements and recognise options. The learning programme
increases IELTS scores. Students create an effective and persuasive personal
statement, complete an application form for tertiary education and sharpen
their interview techniques: dealing competently with questions that may be
asked at an Oxbridge or other University interview.

Lessons The curriculum is based on GCE criteria and standards and offers the
opportunity for students to develop their research, analytical and critical thinking
skills through exciting and stimulating interactive lessons, including: Public
speaking, debating, the power of speech and how to creatively respond to key
literary, dramatic and informative texts. Students write extended essays based
on supervised research in preparation for University applications as well as for
the DSE in Liberal Studies and IB.

Workshops Students work with specialist experts to enhance their spontaneous

communication skills during extended interviews. They explore popular career
options available to high achieving students. For example:
Journalist at a world famous broadcaster: making contributions in an
interactive studio
Lawyer at the Royal Courts of Justice: performing a Mock Trial in the legal
chambers based on a real case and personal feedback from a member of the
legal staff.
