JOB ROLE OF A SINGER

Who is a singer? A singer is a person who sings. Some


people do it as a job like:
Nicki manji
Beyonce
Drake
Enimen etc,
Others may sing without being paid. Singers may sing any
type of song like: opera, pop, and country. An orchestra or
an instrument may accompany etc. them. Other singers
play instruments will singers like: guitar, piano, drums.

When do singers sing?


Singing is producing sounds with your voice and speech by
the rhythm and tone. In many respects human song is a
form of sustained speech. Singing can be formal or
informal arranged or improvised. It may be done for
religious devotion, pleasure, comfort, ritual, education, or
profit.

Why do singers sing?

Professional Singers must perform the music given them


to the best of their ability. Most singers specialize in one
genre, but some may work across several disciplines.

Soloists are generally expected to arrive at the first


rehearsal having learnt their music, and being ready to
sing. Chorus members have more rehearsal time in order
to learn the music with other singers, and to train together
on aspects such as breathing, tone of voice and dynamics.

Backing singers, or session singers, usually cover all


styles, and may not always know in advance in which style
they will be singing. They may either become attached to
a specific group, or they may perform as backing singers
to a variety of groups, or their voices may be used as off-
stage substitutes for principal singers. According to

best sight-readers in the world.

As it is rare for soloists to work regularly, many


established artists occasionally work as session singers,
especially for anonymous sessions, such as for film
soundtracks, studio recordings, etc. Only the top 2% of
session singers may be almost continually in work.

Do singers need a qualification?


Singers wont need a specific formal qualification. The
main qualification is to be able to out the work. Instead
you will need to demonstrate the level of commitment and
application required to work in the industry.

What do singers get paid?


A singer can expect to earn about thirty dollars per hour,
or approx. $45.000 - $65.000 per year. However, the bulk
of a creative professionals lifetime earning potential
resides in contractual payments made for ownership and
licensing of creative works. Because of this, singers have a
wide discrepancy of pay levels, with some famous singers
at the top of the most highly paid professionals in the
country.

What are the duties of a professional singer?

Memorize musical selections and routines, or sing


following printed text, musical notation, or customer
instructions.

Interpret or modify music, applying knowledge of


harmony, melody, rhythm, and voice production to
individualize presentations and maintain audience
interest.

Observe choral leaders or prompters for cues or


directions in vocal presentation.

Perform before live audiences, or in television,


radio, or movie productions.

Practice singing exercises and study with vocal


coaches, in order to develop their voices and skills
and to rehearse for upcoming roles.

Seek out and learn new music that is suitable for


live performance and/or recording.

Sing a cappella or with musical accompaniment.



Sing as a soloist or as a member of a vocal group.

Collaborate with a manager or agent who handles
administrative details, finds work, and negotiates
contracts.
Compose songs and/or create vocal arrangements.

Learn acting, dancing, and other skills required for
dramatic singing roles.

Make or participate in recordings.

Research particular roles to find out more about a
character, or the time and place in which apiece is
set.

An talent scout also looks out and supports the ideas
of his/her clients. There are all types of talent
agencies like modeling agencies, singing agencies,
commercial talent agencies and many more.
A talent scout also does the job role of identifying
people with the talent of singing and recruits them to
work in a specific in the world of work. They also
have the job to travel the world and look for talent.

What do backup dancers do? When do they need


backup dancers? A backup job is to accompany the
singer on stage will performing live or I gig. They also
give dimension to the piece of music, because of
their rhythm and symmetry

The job role of a singer and talent scout is very
similar because a talent scout has to find the singer
and recruit them to the specific job and they also
have to listen to the ideas of a singer.
