A. Introduction
Student need to bring Economic Packet, S.S. Textbook, and ABC
book to the carpet.
Tell students, Yesterday we looked at different resources that effect
our community, today we are going to discover the difference
between money and barter. Refer to learning targets.

B. Development
Read over the background knowledge of money. Discuss the picture
on the bottom of page 266 as well.
Read pages 266-267.
1. Write into ABC books any important vocabulary words.
2. See questions on the side of the manual to engage students in
thinking.
Open up to page the second page in Economics 101 packets, to the
Venn diagram of money and barter.
Do the first one together, and have students go in partners to finish.

Bring students back to the carpet.
Discuss the similarities and differences between money and barter.
