 God s Garden
God looked around his garden and He found an empty place.
He then looked down upon this earth and saw your tired face.
He put His arms around you and lifted you to rest.
Gods garden must be beautiful he always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering, he knew that you were in pain.
He knew that you would never get well on earth again.
He saw that the road was getting rough, and the hills were hard to climb.
So He closed your weary eyelids, and whispered, Peace Be Thine.
It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didnt go alone.
For part of us went with you the day God called you home.
Obituary
On July 11, 1968, God with his infinite love looked down and saw fit to place a special
boy child named Earnest Gregory into the arms of Charles and Earnest LaNell Barnes.
He was the youngest of four children.
Earnest Gregory, also affectionately know as "Greg" accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour.
Greg attended Warren Lane Elementary School in Inglewood from Kindergarten through
3rd grade; El Rodeo Elementary School in Beverly Hills, 4th through the 8th grade; grad-
uated from Beverly Hills High School; and received a Bachelor's Degree from LaVerne
University. Greg was employed by United Postal Service (UPS) as a Supervisor and the
last ten years of his working career was as an Accounts Manager for APX Logistics.
On August 31, 1998, Greg united in marriage to Deborah Allen. To this union was born
his only child, Tyler Alexander Barnes.
Greg loved life and provided strength and inspiration to his family and many friends. He
will always be remembered for his beautiful smile, which was warm and genuine, and his
caring loving heart.
Greg had a passion for sports. He was very competitive. He played little league baseball,
was a star basketball player in high school, played in softball leagues most of his adult life
and was an avid golfer.
Greg leaves to cherish his memories: his eight year old son, Tyler Alexander Barnes; his
devoted fiance, Tara Monique Harris; his ex-wife, Debbie Barnes; his loving parents,
Charles and E. LaNell Barnes; one brother, Charles (Crystal) Barnes of Buena Park,
California; two sisters, Gala Denise Mitchell of Houston, Texas and Belinda (Roosevelt)
Johnson of Valencia, California; four nephews, one great-niece; and a host of other
relatives and friends.
