Lesson: Abraham (God Keeps His Promises)

Abraham has become one of the most important Retell Abrahams story with any kind of media
and influential figure in the Bible. God made (presentation, drama, puppet, comic books, etc)
main promises with Abraham that are still
affected us until now.

Time Instructional Procedures and Strategies


Preparations:
1. Write Gods promises to Abraham in random order on a piece of paper (or only
write the address not the whole passage on the board. Topic will be written on
colored paper, cut and spread to the whole board).
Topic Passage
Place Go to the land I will show you (Gen 12:1) To your offspring I
will give this land (Gen 12:7)
People Make you into a great nation (Gen 12:7)
Promise Bless you (Gen 12:2). Make your name great (Gen 12:2)
Peoples Through you all peoples on earth will be blessed (Gen 12:2 &
3)
Protection Bless those who bless you; curse those who curse you (Gen
12:3)

2. Blank paper for them to draw in writing reflection.


Beginning the Lesson
10 1. Review: Teacher will write three main Gods promises. Ask them to take their
mins Bible and back to their seat. Then:
a. [Option 1] Write them (only the passages) in a random order on the white
board and ask them to come one by one. Then ask them to open the Bible to
the first verse then. Student needs to look for which topic is related with the
passage they have just read and match the passage with the topic. Student will

answer the question by raising their hand and go to the front take the topic and
paste it on the right passage.
b. [Option 2] Write the short version of the passage and the topic in random
order on a piece of paper. Show the paper with the projector and then ask one
student to match one passage with one of the topic.
3 mins 2. Todays topic: Teacher will say, You know what, God is not only said His
promise, He also keeps it. God had finally given Abraham a son and made him as
a big a nation. Jesus Christ our Savior, was born as a part of Abraham
descendants. God made Abraham as a very well-known figure until now. If God
keeps His promise to Abraham, he will also keep His promises to us.
Developing the Lesson
5 mins 1. Teachers Personal Testimony: Teacher will tell the students her personal
testimony about how God has kept His promise.
15 2. Students Reflection: Ask student to get their Biblical Studies Book and open
mins page 20. Ask student to reflect on what have they learned from Abraham, maybe
they learn to keep trusting Him about anything happen in their life.
[Optional] Student who wants to draw their reflection instead of writing on it, can
ask the teacher for some paper.
3. Additional Activities [Only if the student has done their reflection and there is still
extra time]: Students can continue their workbook by filling up page 19.
Closing the Lesson
2 mins 1. Verse Reading: [Assume that the student has done page 19] Ask the students to
read the last verse on page 19 (Psalm 145:13) together with the teacher.
