USPSTF United states preventive service task force does not recommend routine
screening.
Most screening tests are for common HSV2. Now HSV1 is increasing (20 %)
Lack of good screening tests (sensitivity and specificity) and proof of effectiveness
of treatment in preventing spread to seronegative heterosexual contacts and
preventing neonatal HSV infection if treated lacking,
Useful in diagnosing anorectal ulcer disease patients and their partners
