Birthday of Mama Mary and the Immaculate Concepcion

September 8 is the birthday of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of our Lord Jesus
Christ. In her Magnificat, our Mama Mary said, My soul proclaims the greatness of the
Lord; my spirit rejoices in God my Savior. For he has looked upon his handmaids
lowliness; behold, from now on will all ages call me blessed. This is the title she called
upon her lowliness, which tells us that humility is indeed a great virtue.

Ang Marian Youth Movement ng Mariano Marcos Memorial High School ay hindi
pinalampas ang araw na ito upang magbigay pugay sa Ina ng Diyos. Bilang isang
catholic religious club na may special na debosyon kay Maria naghanda ang club ng
mga activity para sa araw na ito. Inumpisahan ang kaaraw ni Maria noong September 8,
2014 ng isang parade ng imahen ng Inang Maria bago mag umpisa ang flag ceremony
na sinundan ng flower offering. Ang imahen ni Mama Mary ay nakadambana sa stage
buong araw. Sa oras na ika-9 ng umaga ay isinagawa naman ang Mariology o ang
study of the life of Mary sa 4 th floor ng Administration Building at si Mr. Nelson de
Ocampo ang siyang naging speaker. Dinaluhan ito ng mga kasapi ng MYM at piling
mag-aaral. Sa ika-3 ng hapon ay ginanap ang re-Coronation ng imahen ni Mama Mary
at ang pag-darasal ng Santo Rosaryo (living rosary baloons). Namigay din ang MYM
ng mga rosaryo sa mga dumalo ng programa. Sa kamasang palad umuulan sa araw na
iyong pero hindi ito naging hadla para hindi maisakatuparan ang nasabing programa.

To Filipino Catholics, Mary is not just a theological construct. She is a real, albeit
spiritual mother, to be greeted on her birthday just as we would greet and prepare a
feast for our biological mothers on their natal days.

Another activity that the MYM of MMMHS celebrated last December 8, 2014 was the
Feast of the Immaculate Conception, which is one of the greatest feasts of the Catholic
Church. That the Blessed Virgin Mary was born sinless from her mothers (St. Anne)
womb was to prepare her for the coming birth of our Lord Jesus Christ where she was
overshadowed by the Holy Spirit of God. If our Lord Jesus Christ entered her womb
and she had the stain of sin, she would have immediately died. Hence God made be
born from the stain of sin. This is what Catholics believed then and we still believe it
now. Ang MYM ay naghanda ng isang 2000 Hail Mary sa Admin Building Room 206
kung saan mga miyembro ng MYM, ng bagong department head ng Science na isa rin
MYM Animator at mga piling mag-aaral ay lumahok upang magdasal ng Hail Mary
kasama ng mga intention para kanilang sarili, pamilya, kaibigan, kamag-aral, paaralan,
Pilipinas at sa buong mundo.
