Social Entrepreneurs:
The power of ideas
"These are people who solve large-scale social problems. They are not politician
s or celebrities, are scattered all over the world: Argentina, Bangladesh, Brazi
l, Hungary, India, Poland and South Africa. They have new ideas to improve the l
ives of people and put them up in cities, countries and, in some cases around th
e world, "and defines David Bornstein, author of How to change the world, in his
recent visit to Buenos Aires. In a talk with N +, Bornstein said that after hav
ing visited several countries for five years interviewing social entrepreneurs,
learned about the inspirational power of these ideas and the potential of genera
ting a massive social transformation. "While this movement still remains hardly
visible in the media, its growth is continuous and global. Represent social entr
epreneurs for social change what business entrepreneurs to the economy. Take ris
ks, undertake and are not afraid to fail or start over, "he said.
Looking for a better quality of life for their environment and develop sustainab
le models that are replicated around the world think globally, act locally. Are
positive, look for leadership within and share their achievements, they grow to

FOR A CLEAN PLANET
Driven by Ricardo Bertolino, Ecoclubs born in 1992 in the southern province of S
anta Fe was an innovative proposal that prompted young people to personally addr
ess a central problem in communities: daily waste. Were created from mobilized g
roups (GM) consisting of the middle school students participating in the Plan fo
r Productive Use of household solid waste.

Leading social, medical and social entrepreneur, Jorge Gronda fifteen years purs

The Power Plant
Integrate persons with disabilities
The Plant is a nonprofit organization that was born in 2002 at the initiative of
a group of citizens involved in community awareness about the need to give visi
bility to people with disabilities, recognizing their rights and integrate them
into all areas. The central ideas that guide and drive the projects of the NGOs
are respect for diversity as a value for the construction of citizenship and bel
ief in the possibility of building a society with differences, but inequalities.
Beatriz Pellizzari, its founder, survived an accident two decades ago and convi
nced many people going through extreme situations do not have the same opportuni
ties, decided to study and specialize in the subject. Born in Montevideo, is a s
ocial psychologist, was director of the Par Foundation, an organization that pro
motes competitive employability of people with disabilities and has been elected

Patagonian Cross Foundation
A CRUSADE FOR THE EDUCATION AND EQUITY

In Jujuy, in the Puna region, desert dotted with mountains, 3800 meters high, is
Warmi Sayajsunqo Association, formed by a group of women Kolla, which are part

with passion to develop the region as a realization of a dream that is based on
the valuation of their identities in order to create a universe conducive to lif

CULTURAL AND ECO SCHOOL MUSEUM

tion Amauta Museum is an institution of community participation, generating valu
es and attitudes within a framework of freedom and shared responsibilities. Arti
stic activities are related to the ECO museum and heritage. As a means of non-fo
rmal education tends to cover a wide range of functions related to continuing ed
ucation and other dimensions of the educational process. It takes into account n
on-formal native needs to select the most appropriate content. One of the needs
that are proposed to cover school-to respond to young people who migrate for emp
loyment or study-is designed, but now students themselves demand continuity in t
he learning spaces and therefore the organization seeks strategic alliances with
other sectors involved in the task to improve the quality of education.
