based on the City of Stuart's, would

Both Indiantown and Hobe Sound

Spreading love, one small rock at a time

Small, painted rocks are hiding these days throughout Martin County, from a tree stump at Sandsprit Park to the antique stove at Scooter's restaurant
in Hobe Sound, just waiting to be discovered, only to be hidden again. Spurring family togetherness and creativity with the excitement of an Easter Egg hunt,
this national rock craze also builds a sense of community. Originating in Oregon as Love Rocks, the first ones in 2013 had fabric hearts glued to one side of
a small flat rock and were left as tokens of a mother's love in honor of her two daughters who were hit by a car and killed in 2013. A mother in Missouri adapted
the idea by using acrylics and markers to create unlimited designs. No talent required, which helps explain its explosive growth. Two local Facebook pages give
participants instructions as to what to do, the opportunity to share their creations, give clues to where they're hidden, and to reveal the treasures they've found
a great antidote to a hate-filled world. To get started, do a search on Facebook.com for Martin County Rocks or Hobe Sound Rocks.
