Morning Greeting/Supervision Plan

Our purpose is that every child is greeted by an adult each morning before they
arrive to their classroom.

Morning Procedures:
8:00- Staff arrives at their posts to greet students. Hallway greeters should be at
their assigned areas to welcome students and monitor safety at 8:00am.

8:05- Students begin to arrive by bus. Students will enter the building, and all
students will be directed to the breakfast area. If they have already eaten, they
will be sent to class. All classroom teachers should be standing at their doors.

8:45- ALL students will be considered tardy to school if they are not in their
classrooms. Students will go to the Health Assistant for a pass.

Hall passes: We want to encourage students to stay in their classrooms and

prepare for learning once they have arrived. Students should not be wandering
the halls, socializing, etc. Once a student has entered the classroom, they must
obtain a hall pass from an adult to leave the classroom for any reason.

Breakfast supervision:
Breakfast should end promptly at 8:30 for K-5 students so that students have
time to transition to class.

Breakfast supervisors are expected to greet students, monitor the breakfast line,
actively supervise students, supervise cleaning, and dismiss students. Students
should raise their hands to be excused, to throw their garbage away, and to
clean up their table and floor space.

Breakfast supervisors: Max, Salah, Paul, Michael

Bus supervisors should arrange for coverage and communicate with the Principal if they know in
advance that they will be absent for afternoon bus loading.
Each bus supervisor will go to his/her assigned bus at dismissal time as quickly as possible before the
students arrive from their classrooms. He or she will stand at the door as the students load the buses and
help them settle in for the ride home. The bus supervisor is expected to become familiar with the children who
ride their bus and to be the school liaison with the bus driver. The bus supervisor will collect bus conduct
reports from the driver and return reports that have been processed during the day. Bus supervisors will deal
with the minor conduct reports (pokey boarding, open window, loud voices, out of seats, etc.) as the children
board the bus. During each afternoon boarding selected staff, spaced along the loading zone, will have walkie
talkies to communicate with the main office.
