Abdul Wahid @ Abdul Wahid Siddibapa, an Indian Mujahideen absconder

arrested by NIA in connection with terrorist conspiracy case RC-06/2012/NIA/DLI

National Investigation Agency arrested Abdul Wahid @ Abdul Wahid Siddibapa,

resident of Maqdoom colony, Bhatkal district, Uttar Kannad, Karnataka, in the early morning
of 20/05/2016. NIA had received information about his likely arrival from a foreign country
and accordingly teams were deployed to apprehend him. He was wanted in case No. 06/2012
of NIA relating to conspiracy of members of Indian Mujahideen to organise mass casualty
terror attacks at different places in India. He is a close relative of Riyaz Bhatkal and was
providing tactical, material and financial support to members of Indian Mujahideen in
planning, preparing and organising terrorist activities of Indian Mujahideen.

2. The NIA Special Court at New Delhi, had issued a Non Bailable warrant for his arrest.
Further, Red Corner Notice was also issued against him by Interpol on 3rd December, 2013 in
connection with NIA case No. RC-06/2012/NIA/DLI. Abdul Wahid was involved in
identifying and recruiting/inducting new members for the proscribed organization Indian
Mujahideen. He was playing a very important role in raising funds for running the organization
Indian Mujahideen and for commission of terrorist acts in India with an intention to wage war
against Government of India. He is one of the oldest and senior most members of Indian
Mujahideen.

3. After his arrest Abdul Wahid @ Abdul Wahid Siddibapa was sent for medical
examination and then he was produced before NIA Special Court. On the petition of National
Investigation Agency, a seven day police custody of Wahid was given to NIA. The teams of
NIA are questioning Abdul Wahid for his role in the terrorist conspiracy of Indian Mujahideen.
