INTRODUCTION

Importance of the Project

Hog raising is a very popular enterprise in the Philippines such that there is a

proliferation of background producer which dominates the swine industry and a healthy

viable commercial sector.

The yearly increase in the number of hog raised in our country has been

attributed to the increase of human population. This trend is noted because of the need

of animal protein in this country, such that there is a proliferation of backyard producers

which dominate swine industry in commercial sector.

The project may encourage farmers to engage in swine fattening project to

increase livestock production in the locality as well as other source of household income

in order to alleviate and improve the standard of living especially among farmers in rural

areas.

Every student is required to conduct a micro project as one of the requirements

in the DAT BAT curriculum in order to finish the course. Micro project enables students

to apply the skills learned inside and outside the school as well as to develop skills in

problem solving, decision making and other analytical process involved in operating such

enterprise.
Objectives of the Project

General:

To manage and asses the profitability of hog raising and to apply the

practical skills learned in the field of swine production.

Specific:

1. To fatten two (2) heads of hog for at least 120 days of feeding period with an

average live weight of 80 kilograms.

2. To generate income of at least Php 1, 000.00.
3. To develop managerial and entrepreneurial capabilities in hog raising.

Time and Locale of the Project

The project will be conduct at Cagayan State University Sta. Maria Lal-lo, Cagayan

From January 2017 to April 2017.
