HISTORY AND MEANING OF THE NESTLE LOGO

The founder Henri Nestle is the first man who actually builds the brand with the help of logo.
The original trademark of Nestle was featured with single bird sitting on the nest which is
based on the familys coat of arms. This was the family orientation to the company which
means in German is nest. Henri added the three young birds being fed by the mother and
adopting the coat of arm to establish the link between the company infant cereal products and
his name Nestle. This sign was used as the trade mark since 1868.

The traditional nest drawing was combined with the name of Nestle in 1938 which is called
the combined mark. In 1966, again the design was simplified. In 1988 it was again modified
