Statistic is : the science that deals with the collection,classification,analysis,and
interpretation of numerical facts or data,and that,by use of mathematical theories
of probability,imposes order and regulatity on aggregates of more or less disparate
elements.sort procedure to collect and analyze information.

Population: a set of elements with common characteristic that wil be studied.a

finite or infinite colletion of items under consideration.

Sample: a portion draw from a population,the study of which is intended to lead to

statistical estimates of the attributes of the whole population.

Qualitative variable: an attribute or characteristic of population diferent than

The amount.

Variables: characteristics that you can study in a population

Quantitative variable: it is one in which the variants differ in

magnitude,e.g,income,age,gnp,etc..

Standard deviation: the dispercion of data with respect to the average.it is denoted
by the greek letter sigma.

Median: it is defined as the intermediate value of the population.

Mode: the mode is a most common (frequent) value.

Coefficient of variation: allows to know the degree of dispersion of the data with
respect to the half,but in this case is isolated from the analysis units. It is especially
useful for compating the variation in different samples.

La estadstica: es la ciencia que se ocupa de la recogida, clasificacin, anlisis e

interpretacin de los hechos o datos numricos, y que, mediante el uso de las
teoras matemticas de la probabilidad, impone orden y regularidad en los
agregados de elementos ms o menos dispares. Ordenar procedimiento para
recopilar y analizar la informacin.

Poblacin: un conjunto de elementos con caractersticas comunes que se

estudiaran. Una coleccin finita o infinita de elementos bajo consideracin.

Muestra: una porcin extrada de una poblacin, cuyo estudio est destinado a
conducir a estimaciones estadsticas de los atributos de toda la poblacin.

Variable cualitativa: un atributo caracterstica de la poblacin diferente de la

cantidad.
Variable: caractersticas que se pueden estudiar en una poblacin

Variable cuantitativa: es uno en el que las variables aleatorias difieren en

magnitud, por ejemplo, los ingresos, La edad, l PNB, etc.

Desviacin estndar: la dispersin de los datos con respecto a la media. Se nota

letra griega sigma.

Mediana: se define como el valor intermedio de la poblacin.

La moda: es un valor ms comn (frecuente)

Coeficiente de variacin: permite conocer el grado de dispersin de los datos

con respecto a la media, pero en este caso se asla de las unidades de anlisis.
Es especialmente til para comparar la variacin en diferentes muestras.
