TRAVEL FORMULAS
The following formulas can be used to determine distance traveled, the
amount of time it took to travel that distance or the acceleration used to
cover that distance in that amount of time if two of the three variables are
known.

SYSTEM SCALE SENSOR RANGES
The ranges listed below are for detecting a ship-sized object and are
suggestions only.
Sensor/Application Range
RANGE MODIFIERS
Short 0
Medium -2
Long -4
OTHER MODIFIERS:

MASS DETECTOR
MASS DETECTOR
Target is within one and one-half light seconds of a gas giant TN-2
* Operating a gravity mask at the same time as a gravity drive at these Move Ratings nullifies this penalty.
QUANTUM TRAP
Notes:
1. Each doubling of range constitutes a range category; short, medium or long. There is no point blank range.
2. Psionic sensors are always setting unique.
DETECTING ACTIVE SENSORS
* The information shown applies equally to military and civilian ships. Crew which are responsible for the well
being of passengers are considered part of the operations division.
RANDOM SYSTEM SELECTION
1: Life support
2: Power plant
3: Gravity drive
4: D-Drive
6: Weapons
7: Communications
8: Sensors/electronic warfare
* General maintenance is a catch term all for any problem that doesn’t fall into one of the other categories.
