Science 5 Safety Rules Project:

Using the art form of your choice, alone or in groups (1-3 people), show four
dangerous electrical situations (refer to your sheet from the first day, with the
pictures). Then write a rule for each situation that explains how to safely deal with
this situation.
For instance, dont overload an electrical outlet with too many devices.
You can use:

-Drawing
-Drama (make a skit)
-Dance
-Writing (story, poems, or rap song)

No matter what artistic medium (art form) you choose, you will need to include 4
written rules, one for dealing safely with each dangerous situation youve chosen.
If you are drawing, just show the four dangerous situations with four written rules. If
you are doing skits, please act out the written rules. For instance:
Jin: Hey Micah, didnt we learn that you shouldnt touch a downed power line?
Micah: Wow, Jin! Thanks! You saved my life!

To help you self-assess, Ive included a self-assessment rubric below. Please fill it
out when youre done, or almost done. These are also the three things Ill be
grading you on when I see your projects:
1) I clearly showed how to prevent or safely approach unsafe electrical
situations

2) I was creative and inventive, using the art form I chose to convincingly
communicate the importance of electrical safety. (ie: this might help show
someone who doesnt pay attention to safety warnings to avoid making a
bad decision)

You have todays class to work on this, and well have a little more time to finish
these when I get back, but not a lot (not a full class), so use your time wisely! Ill
