2.Descripcin

The purpose of this research is to develop an intelligent traffic light system for
vehicular traffic control hardware based on programmed in in higher level
languages compiled, this technology is focused on the general public for daily life
in the city. This research by considering characteristics of both descriptive and
projective. Also, data collected for research were obtained by applying different
media documents and records. The methodology for the development of the
system used is the Open Up Whose phases were considered relevant to the
project are: Inception, Elaboration, Construction, Transition. The system is based
on a small pic microcontroller intelligently programmed with algorithms for
decision- making in the area of vehicular traffic control. For the development of
this system we used the Arduino kit.

4.Contenidos
The main objective of the present investigation is the realization of a vehicular traffic
system through intelligent traffic lights that is focused on the daily life of the general
public, since there is a very high population in the cities of the planet. Necessary to
implement these systems because not only the streets are circulated by humans but also
by motor vehicles which is the most popular means of transportation.
The idea of this research is to make a device capable of making decisions on how to
drive traffic in an intersection, more effectively than conventional traffic lights since they
do not make a decision, only make a change of lights every time Time and this creates
problems such as long unnecessary waiting times to move around the city or congestions
of vehicles that can be solved more effectively.
This research will be developed in hardware programmed under high level language
compiled, using the technology of microprocessors and leds, trying to take as a base the
behavior of traffic lights in the city but improving them through programming algorithms.
After analyzing the current functioning of the traffic lights, technical requirements were
established for the realization of the system, the necessary elements for the elaboration
and design were compiled, after which a basis of elaboration of the architecture of the
traffic control system was established Vehicle and finally developed this system.

5.Metodologa
It can be established that the research carried out is descriptive since at the beginning of
the project the requirements for the development of the project and the function of the
traffic lights for the improvement of traffic flow in the city.

6.Conclusiones
This research resulted in the creation of a system of control of intelligent traffic lights for
the control of vehicular traffic in the city of Maracaibo, allowing an improvement of the
flow of traffic thanks to the capacity of vehicle detection and decision making They give
priority to the avenues with greater flow of traffic.

Responding to the objectives that were first established, support in the Open Up
methodology composed of four phases, carried out an analysis of the elements
necessary to create the system of intelligent traffic lights and determined the functionality
of it. Subsequently leading us to the elaboration of a design and a basic planning of all

the requirements of the system. Giving step to the construction phase where is the
system that is tested to verify that it is ready to be executed, taking into account the base
design generated in the previous phase and the objective of the project.

Once built the system of intelligent traffic lights they did a series of tests in a simulated
intersection environment to determine if the expectations of the project have been met.
Having completed the development of the project they cited recommendations, based on
the simulated tests that help keep the system running optimally and its future
improvement.
