Film Tax Credit Bump
Until November, Kingstons Ulster County (along with several other nearby
NY counties) was receiving the same tax credit as NYC for production
(30%) and post-production (35%), while much of the rest of the state had a
credit that was 10% higher.

Eective immediately, the tax credit has been raised 10% higher on both
counts: 40% for production, and 45% for post-production. This is a huge
swing in the economics of lm-making in Ulster County, and turns
Kingston from a good to great destination.

Of course, tax incentives aren't everything.

Kevin Klowden, from California's Milken Institute, said that in addition to tax credits:

adding that states that have provided incentives for investment in permanent
infrastructure, like production facilities, have seen the greatest benets.
