Describe the cover art AND explain how it represents what youve read so far. 9. Explain how the time period/era in which the book was set affects the story. 10. Illustrate and label/describe an event or passage from the book. 11. Write five questions you have about the book right now. 12. What has surprised you about the book so far? Why did this surprise you? 13. To what kind of reader would you recommend this book AND why? 14. Write a letter to the author giving them advice about how you would edit or revise this book to improve it. 15. Explain the theme or central message of this book. 16. What did you learn today that you did not know before? 17. Did you come across a problem in your reading that you had not considered before? What was the problem? Could you solve it? How? 18. Are any of the real life situations or people that you read about today similar to situations or people that you have experienced before in life? How were they similar and different? 19. How does the author develop the characters? By descriptions? By what they say? By what they do? By what others say about them? 20. From whose point of view is the story told? How does this point of view shape the story?
