Related Information
In the real networking solution, usually the device is configured with an in-band network
management IP address and connected to the public network or the operation and
maintenance network through the uplink port. All users in this network can visit the
device. However, for the security of the device, only a few users are allowed to configure
the device.
Besides the restriction on the access to the device, ACM also controls the source IP of the
received packets. ACM can control the source/destination port number of ICMP, IGMP,
TCP or UDP.
2-5
If the ACM function is enabled, the IP packets which do not match the ACM list are
discarded. The device does not respond the ARP request packets and ICMP packets of
which the source IP addresses are not in ACM list.
Steps
1. Configure ACM entry.
If... Then...
2. Enable ACM.
l To configure the network management ACM, enable the ACM function after
enabling the NMS or maintenance computer to access an NE. Otherwise, once
the ACM function is enabled, you cannot use the Telnet or SNMP NMS to
manage devices.
l At most 16 items are configured for the ACM. If multiple commands related to
ACM configuration have inclusion relation, the ACM module allows processing
the IP packet only if it finds the first item meeting the conditions.
9806(config)# manage-access-list enable
Note:
l You need to add the IP address of the NMS to the ACM list before you enable
the ACM function. Otherwise, you cannot manage the device through Telnet or
SNMP.
l ACM can be configured with 16 entries at maximum.

Context
With the use of VLAN Stacking technology, the ZXDSL 9806H adds both the outer and
inner 802.1Q tags to user's packets. Packets with two layers of VLAN tags are transmitted
to the layer-2 network and are transferred in the layer-2 network according to the outer
VLAN tag.
VLAN Stacking implements the following services:
In a layer-2 switching WAN, there are multiple ISPs. To deliver ISP's services to the
specified user group quickly, the outer VLAN tag is used for identifying the ISP and the
inner VLAN tag is used for identifying users. In this way, different user groups are accessed
to the specified ISP in batches according to various outer VLAN tags and get services.
To deliver batch service, the upper-layer network must be layer-2 network mode and it
transfers packets based on VLAN and MAC address.
Networking Diagram
Figure 3-3 shows VLAN Stacking batch service networking diagram.
3-11
the layer-2 network. The inner VLAN tag is used to identify the ISP. The outer VLAN
tag is used to identify the user.
3. The layer-2 network transfers the packets to the ISP BAS device according to the outer
VLAN tag.
4. The ISP BAS device strips the outer VLAN tag and identify the user by the inner VLAN
tag.
5. After passing the ISP BAS authentication, the user can get the services that the ISP
provides.
Data Configuration
For VLAN stacking batch service data configuration, refer to Table 3-8.

Context
The ZXDSL 9806H can be configured with 80 VDSL2 spectrum profiles. Among them,
VSPDEFVAL.PRF is the default profile. Its parameter cannot be deleted or modified.
A spectrum profile supports multiple spectrum mode profiles. Among them, profile 1 is the
default profile. Its parameter cannot be deleted or modified.
Each spectrum mode profile can be configured with the spectrum and PSD parameters
of a specific transmission mode. To synchronize with the line, you can select line
mode in accordance with the real transmission mode. Practically, only parameters of
G9932_ANNEXB(59) mode need to be created and configured.
4-37
The ZXDSL 9806H supports binding and switchover of VDSL2 profile and LimitMask. In
engineering, you can select multiple VDSL2 profiles for a LimitMask to implement the
automatic switchover of VDSL2 profile.
Because different ClassMasks are incompatible with one another, only one ClassMask can
be selected for the same spectrum and spectrum mode profile.

l IP address binding
IP address binding is to bind a user interface with one IP address. If the interface
receives the packet whose source IP address is the same as the bound IP address,
the packet is forwarded, otherwise it is discarded.
l MAC address binding
MAC address binding is to bind a service port with a MAC address. Only the
packets of which the source MAC address is the same as the bound MAC address
can pass through this service port.
System switch module will disable the MAC address auto-learning function if the
user interface is bound with MAC address. If the source MAC address of the
packet does not match with the binding MAC address, the packet is invalid and
discarded.

The IGMP Snooping function includes IGMP Snooping transparent transmission function
and IGMP Snooping agent function.
l IGMP Snooping transparent transmission function means that if the IGMP Snooping
function is implemented, IGMP packets are not generated, intercepted, or modified.
l The IGMP Snooping agent function includes the following sub-functions:
Report suppression
Intercept and process Report packets that are sent from the IGMP host and
forward only when necessary. For example, when the first user joins into the
multicast group, it is necessary to forward the Report packets.
Intercept and process Query packets that are sent from the IGMP host.

Note:
By default, one Ethernet port can bind 1024 multicast groups. Other ports can bind
one multicast group. When an ADSL port needs to bind multiple multicast groups, it is
necessary to configure that one ADSL port can bind multiple multicast groups (In this
example, the group limit is set as 8.
It is required to bind the multicast group and the receive port for static multicast.
However, this operation is not required for dynamic multicast.
l If the global CAC function is enabled, the permissions of a user port take effect
and only subscribers can watch the subscribed channels.
l If the global CAC function is disabled, the permissions of a user port are
unavailable, and subscribers can watch the channels created in the MVLAN (the
subscribers must have receiving ports in the MVLAN).

SP + WRR scheduling is the mixed mode of SP and WRR. The system supports
some queues with SP scheduling and some queues with WRR scheduling. When
8-1
WRR value is 0, the queue uses SP scheduling. The queue with SP scheduling
is the queue with the highest priority.
l Port QoS priority scheduler
802.1p priority
The 802.1p protocol defines the meaning of priority. For data packets that require
high real-time performance, the host adds three bits as priority in the frame header
of the MAC address, indicating that the data packets have high priority. These
data packets are transmitted in priority when there is large data traffic.
DSCP priority
DSCP is a classification standard of QoS. DSCP is a combination of IP priority
and service type field. In the service type identification byte of IP header of each
data packet, DSCP uses used 6 bits and non-used 2 bits to distinguish priority.

Context
DHCP snooping technology is a security characteristic of DHCP. This technology filters
the non-trusted DHCP information from non-trusted areas through establishing and
maintaining DHCP snooping binding table.
DHCP snooping binding table includes the information about user MAC address, IP
address, rental period and VLAN ID interface from non-trusted areas. It can age the
entries in DHCP snooping binding table according to the rental period. To maintain DHCP
9-6
snooping binding table, it is necessary to intercept DHCP Request, DHCP ACK, DHCP
NAK, DHCP Decline and DHCP Release packets.
To realize the DHCP source guard technology, it is necessary to establish DHCP snooping
module to maintain DHCP snooping binding table. Through binding IP address and
PVC, DHCP snooping can filter the non-DHCP IP packets of PVC. This technology can
effectively prevent address-deceit and DoS attack and thus increase the device security.

The port sends a loopback check packet automatically and periodically if the loopback
check function is enabled. The packet contains information of the transmitting port. The
receiving port compares the port information with its own. If the information is consistent,
loopback occurs on the port.
If loopback occurs on a port, the system will shut down this port.
If the "recover interval" parameter is configured, the disabled port is enabled automatically
after the recover interval. If the port is still in loop-back status, the recover interval
is prolonged automatically. The calculation formula is t+n*t, where "t" refers to
recover-interval and "n" refers to the times of automatic recovery to normal.
Steps
1. Configure loop-check interval.
9806(config)# loop-check interval 20
End of Steps
Result
You can show the result by executing the show loop-check interval command.

Parameter Description
Hello Time Hello Time is used to ensure the stableness of spanning tree
through which configuration packets is sent via STP/RSTP.
If configuration packets cannot be received in time, the
system calculates the spanning tree again.
Default: 2 sec
Max Age Max Age helps the system judge whether the received
configuration packets are timeout. If the received
configuration packets are timeout, the system recalculates
the spanning tree.
Default: 20 sec
10-4
Parameter Description
Default cost type The ZXDSL 9806H supports two cost types: short and long.
The default cost type is short.
Only RSTP can be configured with default cost.
The default cost takes effect only when RSTP port
administration path cost is set to 0. Otherwise, the path cost
is calculated according to the configured value.
Once the default cost is configured, the path cost is
automatically calculated according to the default cost.
Transmission Hold Count Transmission hold count indicates the maximum number of
BPDU packets transmitted during each Hello Time.
Only RSTP can be configured with transmission hold count.
By default, transmission hold count is set to 3.

10-6
Parameter Description
STP Cost Port STP cost is related to link rate. The larger the link rate is,
the smaller the port cost is to be set.
Configuring STP cost will cause the spanning tree to be
recalculated. It is recommended to use the default value of
STP cost.
By default, the bridge obtains port STP cost according to the
actual link condition.
STP/RSTP Priority Port priority implements load bearing. When two ports are
used on the same switch, a topology loop is made. The switch
decides which port is enabled according to port priority.
The value range for port STP priority is from 0 to 255. The
default port STP priority is 128.
The value range for port RSTP priority is from 0 to 240. The step
length is 16. The default port RSTP priority is 128.
RSTP Edge Port Only RSTP can be configured with edge port.
By default, all ports are configured as non-edge port.
RSTP BPDU Packet Type Only RSTP can be configured with BPDU packet type.
RSTP BPDU packet type is especially configured for CISCO
devices. If the opposite device is CISCO device, BPDU packet
type must be CISCO_TYPE. If the opposite device is not CISCO
device, BPDU packet type can be IEEE_TYPE.
The default BPDU packet type is CISCO_TYPE.
RSTP Protocol Migration Only RSTP can be configured with protocol migration.
By default, RSTP protocol migration is disabled.

Prerequisite
The ZXDSL 9806H is directly connected to the uplink device through uplink ports.
Context
The ZXDSL 9806H supports two link aggregation modes: static Trunk and LACP
l The static Trunk mode adds multiple physical ports directly to a Trunk to form a logical
port, whose status is not easy to be observed.
l The LACP mode aggregates multiple physical ports dynamically to a Trunk to form a
logical port. The maximum bandwidth at the logical port can be obtained by the LACP
mode.
Steps
1. Configure the link aggregation for the uplink interface.
11-1
Note:
l When the aggregation mode is set to "on", the static Trunk mode is applied. The
aggregation modes for both ends must be set to "on".
l When the aggregation mode is set to "active" or "passive", the LACP mode is
applied. The aggregation modes for both ends must be set to "active"; or set one
end to "active, and the other end to "passive"
2. (Optional) Configure the LACP system priority. The default value can be used if users
have no special request.
9806(config)# lacp system-priority 32768

SNTP is a subset of (NTP). It is used when the complete NTP functions are not required.
SNTP provides a simplified policy between NTP server and client.
Prerequisite
The time zone information is appropriately configured for the ZXDSL 9806H.
11-3
Context
The default time zone is 8, that is, the eastern eighth time zone. Therefore, time zone
setting is unnecessary for the ZXDSL 9806H in the mainland of China, which use the
default time zone value.
The system supports two NTP servers at most. By default, the system is not configured
with NTP server, with the value 0.0.0.0 displayed, waiting for the response from NTP
server. The system communicates with NTP server in unicast mode after NTP server
is configured.
The default synchronization interval is 64 seconds.
Steps
1. Configure the time zone.
