Statement of the Problem

This study aims to determine the leadership dimensions practiced by the


School Heads in the Department of Education particularly in Third Congressional District
of the Division of Negros Oriental, Negros Island Region during the School Year 2016-
2017.
Specifically, it endeavors to answer the following sub-problems;
1. What is the the profile of the School Head in terms of:
1.1 Sex
1.2 Age
1.3 Religion
1.4 Years of Supervisory Experiences
1.5 Highest Educational Advancement
2. To what extent do the school heads practice the leadership dimensions
in terms of;
2.1 Transformational Leadership
2.2 Transactional Leadership
3. What is the culture behavior of the schools in terms of;
3.1 Professional Collaboration
3.2 Affiliative Collegiality
3.3 Self Determination/ Efficacy
4. Is there a significant relationship between leadership dimensions and
school culture behavior?
5. Is there a significant relationship between the school heads profile and
leadership dimensions practiced?

Statement of the Null Hypothesis

Ho1 There is no significant relationship between leadership dimensions


and school culture behavior.
Ho2 There is no significant relationship between the school heads

Cogintive Anthropology- discovering how different peoples organize and use their
cultures (Tyler,1969) perceives that culture resides in the minds of people rather than in
the material phenomena of the system

Purpose of the study:
1. Promote potential school leaders who can demonstrate the ability to improve school
culture that will directly affect curriculum implementation, teaching instruction and
student learning.
2. Formulate a school leadership preparation program in colleges and universities that
gives emphasis in building a school culture that is aligned to the fast changing time..
3. Reshape traditional leaders the needed knowledge and skills in improving schools
culture.
4. Provide a strong support mechanism for the traditional leaders from the district and
division leaders in the reformation of the school culture.
