5.2.

Inferential Analysis

Inferential statistics makes inferences about populations using data drawn from the

population. Instead of using the entire population to gather the data, the statistician will collect a

sample or samples from the millions of residents and make inferences about the entire population

using the sample.

The above table shows the results of One-Sample t-test for whether the employees are

aware about the safety measures which is implemented by the Indian Oil Corporation Limited.

The calculated t value 3.366 and p value is 0.001 which is less than 0.01. Therefore the null

hypothesis is rejected at 1% level of significant. Hence it is concluded that the employees are

well aware about the safety measures which is implemented by the Indian Oil Corporation

Limited.

Table 5.2.2 reveals the Independent t-test for whether the employees are aware about the

safety measures which is implemented by the Indian Oil Corporation Limited. The t value is

-.363 and p value is 0.718 which is greater than 0.05. Therefore the null hypothesis is accepted at

5% level of significant. Hence it is concluded that there is no significant difference between male

and female employees with respect to awareness about the safety measures which is

implemented by the Indian Oil Corporation Limited.

The above table shows the results of One-Sample t-test for whether there is any encouraging

The above table shows that ANOVA test result for whether there is any significant

difference among the age group of the respondents with respect to safety measures implemented

at oil treatment with special reference to Indian oil Corporation in Chennai city. All the

statements p value except I feel my work place as safe as my home are great are great than

0.05. Therefore the null hypothesis is accepted at 5% level of significant. Hence it is concluded

that there is no significant difference among the age group of the respondents with respect to

safety measures implemented at oil treatment with special reference to Indian oil Corporation in

Chennai city.

The p value of I feel my work place as safe as my home is 0.027 which is less than

0.05. Therefore the null hypothesis is rejected at 5% level of significant. Hence it is concluded
that there is significant difference among the age group of the respondents with respect to Indian

oil Corporation in Chennai city.

There is no association between gender and level of work environment among the

respondents in Indian Oil Corporation, Chennai.
