SCHOOL : SMA N 1 TABANAN
CLASS/SEMESTER : X/1
MEETING/TIME ALLOCATION : 1) 3 X 45 minutes
2) 3 X 45 minutes
3) 2 X 45 minutes

I. STANDARD COMPETENCY:
2. To Understand the Principles of Creatures Classification

II. BASIC COMPETENCY:

2.3 To present the general characters of phylums in Protist Kingdom and their roles in
life

III. INDICATORS:
First Meeting:

To describe the general characters of

protists based on the observation.
To identify the protists on the basis of
protist morphology.
To contrast the protist like-fungi, protist
like-plants, protist like-animal on the basis
of observation.
To explain the principles of protist
classification (protist like-fungi, protist like-
plant, protist like-animal).

Second Meeting
To explain the reproduction of Protists.

To make a chart of reproduction process

and life cycle of Protist.

Third Meeting
To mention a few sample of protists role in
life.
To identify advantages/ disadvantages of
Protist in daily life of human being.
IV. CONTENT:
Protists

First Meeting
o The general character of Protist.
Protist is unicelular eukaryotic organism lives solitairy or in colony. Protist can be
classified as protist like-animal (protozoa), protist like- plants (algae) and protist like-fungi
(slime mold). The bodys form of protist is in vary.
The general characters of Slime Molds. For instance, there are many nuclei in the
body, amoeboid (Myxomicotina), posses flagel (Oomycotina), heterotroph, yield
spores, as parasite or decomposer.
The general characters of protist like-plants (Algae) are unicelular organisms (except
browny algae and reddish algae), photosynthetic organisms, microscopic and
macroscopic in shape, inhabit both in fresh-water or marine, possess chlorophyll,
carotenoid, phycoxanthin, phycoerythrin.

Second Meeting
The reproduction of Protists (vegetative and generative reproduction)

Third Meeting
o The roles of protest in life.
Protist can be used as high-nourishing nutrition resources, medicine resources,
cosmetics, and fertilizer as well. On the other hand, Protist can cause harmful diseases,
such as sleepness disease, malaria, and thricosomiasis, etc.
