Beginning the Lesson:
Teacher will ask students to take their science book out.

Teacher will start by reviewing from last class which is hard and soft. Teacher will

bring 5-6 items hard and soft and will ask students to touch and feel and

differentiate the hard and soft objects with the help of the handout.
Teacher will then introduce the lesson and the objective.
Lesson: strength
Objective: differentiate strength and hardness.
Developing the Lesson:
Teacher will ask students to turn their book to page 50-51 and read the first
paragraph which describes about strength.
The capacity of an object or substance to withstand great force or pressure.
Teacher will show two kinds of bags and will ask and discuss three questions from
the book.

min - Which bag is the best bag to carry shopping in? Why do you think it is the best?
- Why do you think it is useful for materials to be strong but not hard?
Teacher will give another example of the book, which is question number 3.
Teacher will ask students that how strong is not the same as hardness.
Answer: Example of a plastic and a glass. A plastic is not hard but it can carry a
lot of things whereas, a glass is hard but not strong, it can be easily broken.

Teacher will ask students to write down at least 5 strong objects inside or outside

the classroom. (using the white board)

- Question and answer - Visual learners: Teacher will have power
- Recording 6-8 strong objects. point so that the students can see while
listening.
- Teacher will bring 5-6 objects so that the
students can not only see and hear but
also touch at the same time.
- Kinesthetic learning: Teacher will ask
student to move around and record 6-8
strong objects.
