Delicate Peacock Feather Appliqu

The whole nine & three quarter yards

As the name suggests, this tutorial results in a feathery-light, delicate, beautiful appliqu that
closely resembles the actual peacock feather. It can be used in numerous projects. Hope you
enjoy making it as much as I enjoyed designing it!

Materials Used:
Red Heart Super Saver Worsted 4 Soft Navy as Colour A
Red Heart Super Saver Worsted 4 Turqua as Colour B
Red Heart Super Saver Worsted 4 Warm Brown as Colour C
Red Heart Super Saver Worsted 4 Tea Leaf as Colour D
Crochet Hook US I/5.25mm, 6in/15.2cm
Yarn Needle
Scissors

Gauge:
The appliqu made using the materials listed above and the following pattern measures about
5.5 inches at the longest point and 4 inches at the widest point.

ch -chain
hdc -half double crochet
dc -double crochet

Pattern:
Round 1:
Using colour A, in a magic circle, ch 3(counts as dc), 12 dc (total of 13 dc). Change to
colour B. Using colour B, 4 tr into the magic circle. Pull tail to tighten the circle.
Round 2:
Continue using colour B. 1 sc on the top of the ch 3 of round 1(colour A), [2 sc in the next st,
1 sc in next st] 6 times(total of 19 sc). Change to colour C and Sl st into 1st tr of Round 1.
Round 3:
Continue using colour C, (ch 1 and 1 sc) in the 1st tr of Round 1. 2 sc in the next st, 1 sc in
next st, [2 sc in the next st] 2 times, [1 hdc in the next st] 2 times, 2 hdc in the next st, [1 dc
in the next st] 2 times, 2 dc in the next st, [1 tr in the next st] 2 times, 2 tr in the nest st, [1 tr
in the next st] 2 times, 2 dc in the next st, [1 dc in the next st] 2 times, 2 hdc in the next st, [1
hdc in the next st] 2 times, 2 sc in the next st(including ch 1 there are 33 sts). Change to
colour D and Sl st into 1st sc of Round 3.
Round 4:
Continue using Colour D, (ch 1 and 1 sc) in 1st sc of Round 3. [2 sc in the next st, 1 sc in
next st] 2 times, 2 sc in the next st, [1 sc in the next st] 5 times, [1 hdc in the nest st and ch 1]
3 times, [1 dc in the next st and ch 1] 4 times, [1 tr in the next st and ch 1] 2 times, [1 dc in
the next st and ch 1] 4 times, [1 hdc in the nest st and ch 1] 2 times, 1 hdc in the nest st, [1
sc in the next st] 5 times(total of 51 sts including ch 1). Sl st into 1st sc of Round 4.
Round 5:
Continue using Colour D, (ch 1and 1 sc) in 1st sc of Round 4, [1 sc in the next st] 14 times, 1
sc in the next ch 1 space, 1 sc on the top of hdc of Round 4 right after ch 1 space, 1 sc in the
next ch 1 space, 1 hdc on the top of hdc of Round 4 right after ch 1 space, ch 1, 1 hdc on the
top of dc of Round 4, ch 2, 1 dc on the top of dc of Round 4, ch 1, 1 dc on the top of dc of
Round 4, ch 2, 1 dc on the top of dc of Round 4, ch 1, 1 dc on the top of tr of Round 4, ch 1,
1 tr in the next ch 1 space, ch 1, 1 dc on the top of tr of Round 4, ch1, 1 dc on the top of dc
