It was the last day of week 2 of practicum phase 1. I got no class for today
because we had an important event in school which was we had to celebrate new
headmaster to our school.

7 August 2016

It was the first day of third week for practicum phase one. The day started with
assembly at 7.45 am. For today, I have class for 5 Maju. It is on 8.15 to 9.15 am. Once
again, the assembly finished late. so I have limited time for my class. I was
disappointed. There were strengths and weakness that I identified throughout the day.

The strength for today class was that my students enjoyed the lesson well. They
were having fun learning. All of them were very excited and they managed to finish the
exercise on time.

On the other side, I was a bit disappointed because I cannot complete my

teaching session because lack of time. Furthermore, I was weak in managing time. I
had problems during set induction because student did not understand when I ask them
in English.

For suggestion, I need to figure out ways to manage time successfully. I also
need to use a very clear and firm instruction so that they will listen to me.

In conclusion, I managed to control the class at the end of the lesson. I learned a
lot from my mistake today.
Monday

2 AUGUST 2016

Today, I focused on reading skill in year 4 Jaya and 5 Maju. Throughout the
lesson, there were some strength and weakness that I found.

For year 4 Jaya, during post reading stage, the students managed to complete
the worksheet without any problem. Most of the students managed to answer 6 out of 6
correctly. For 5 Maju, they enjoyed the lesson well, I teach about 3 famous astronauts
and they can read well about them.

However, students faced the problem to answer the comprehension questions,.

Eventhough they managed to understand the text, they were still weak in answering
comprehension questions.

For suggestion, I need to prepare an easy comprehension question according to

the students level. This will help the students to answer the question with ease. Other
than that, I also need to maintain enjoyable and interesting learning because by doing
this, the students will engage their concentration longer than before.

In conclusion, the teaching and learning process went smoothly.

Thursday

11th August 2016

Today I started my teaching session for Year 5 Maju. The focus skill today was
reading. The teaching and learning session went smoothly.

The strength for today lesson was during while reading stage. The students were
very enjoy sequencing the story with the correct sentence strips. They also understand
my instruction very well and they can respond well to my questions.

On the other side, there was weakness for todays lesson. The students were not
able to cooperate well during set induction stage. They were having problem to talk
about the video and answer the related questions.

For suggestion, I should not expect a lot from my students and asked them
questions that they cannot answer. I should lowered the level of teaching that I used to
make the students understand what I teach about.

In conclusion, the learning objective achieved and throughout the lesson, there
were no major problem happened.

14th August 2016

writing skills.

The strength for today class was that my students enjoyed the lesson well. They

On the other side, I was a bit disappointed because my pupils cannot write well.
They did not know how to write a letter. Furthermore, I had problems during set
induction because student did not understand when I ask them in English.

For suggestion, I need to figure out ways how to make an activity that suits their
level. I also need to use a very clear and firm instruction so that they will listen to me.

In conclusion, I managed to control the class at the end of the lesson. I learned a
lot from my mistake today.

Monday
15th August 2016

Today I started my teaching session for Year 4 Jaya. The focus skill today was
listening and speaking. The teaching and learning session went smoothly.

The strength for today lesson was during while listening and speaking stage. The
students were very enjoy playing chinese whisper game. They also understand my
instruction very well and they can respond well to my questions.

On the other side, there was weakness for todays lesson. The students were not
able to cooperate well during group works. They were having problem to talk about the
pictures and answer the questions given.

For suggestion, I should not expect a lot from my students and asked them
questions that they cannot answer. I should lowered the level of teaching that I used to
make the students understand what I teach about.

In conclusion, the learning objective achieved and throughout the lesson, there
were no major problem happened.

Tuesday

16th August 2016

 It was very tough day since I need to handle two classes today. I faced a lot of
problems today and I learnt a lot

The strength for today lesson was during while reading stage. The students were
very enjoy matching the pictures with the correct sentence strips. They also understand
my instruction very well and they can respond well to my questions.

On the other side, there was weakness for todays lesson. The students were not
able to cooperate well during set induction stage. They were having problem to talk
about the pictures and answer the related questions.

For suggestion, I should not expect a lot from my students and asked them
questions that they cannot answer. I need to prepare myself much more earlier and I
need to be more optimistic. I also need to avoid negative thoughts and behaviour.

In conclusion, the learning objective achieved and throughout the lesson, there
were no major problem happened.

Tuesday

16th August 2016

 For 5 Maju, they enjoyed the lesson well, I teach about prepositions which are
along and against. They can understand how to use them.

However, students faced the problem to create sentences using along and
against. Eventhough they managed to understand the preposition, they were still weak
in creating sentences.

For suggestion, I need to prepare an easy task according to the students level.
This will help the students to answer the question with ease. Other than that, I also need
to maintain enjoyable and interesting learning because by doing this, the students will
engage their concentration longer than before.

In conclusion, the teaching and learning process went smoothly.
