Title of Article : In Yemen, urgent support for survivors of deadly boat attack
Theme: Refugees/Migration
Your view on the article/ prediction of how this event will turn out (5-10 sentences):
The refugees who were able to survive the attack and make it to shore are probably 99.99%
traumatized and shocked for life. Its something that immediately destroys you and impacts you
because these innocent people who have intentions of seeking asylum are torn from that fantasy
and dream. It makes you want to do something to change it but if only things were at a whoosh
of a wand. It makes you reflect back on the life you were blessed with and how grateful you
should be that you arent the one facing these obstacles in life but you are the one who plays the
role of receiving this information, a problem but cant do anything to ultimately solve it. I feel
like stuff like this will continue to happen even though I want to predict that things will get better
Current Event #15
but we all know thats not reality. There will always be aid and help for those that are terrorized
like this but the problem will never be truly stopped because there will be other cases like this
happening everywhere in the world. Its like an archetype something that keeps on happening but
in different variations/ situations. These stories will bring awareness to readers like me which in
turn will create awareness, which will allow people to know what is happening to people with
whom they share a home with (earth). Which is probably something that may seem so small but
it can create a big impact.
I Wonder Questionings: Think of three complete questions that you could ask about the
article subject that are not answered at all or are only particularly answered in the writing.
Question 1: When extremist groups like Al Qaeda, or ISIS take role in events like this do they
always claim responsibility shortly after? Because there is a possibility these groups could have
been responsible for this.
Question 2: I wonder if there are aid groups in America who aid/fund situations like this in the
Middle East?
Question 3: I wonder if the warning they placed for refugees not to cross through the Red sea or
the attack, will limit the amount of boats going to seek asylum.are they willing to take such
risk?
