voltageinthebattery.ItturnsONthechargerifthebatteryvoltageisbelowthevariablepresetvoltage(12volt
chosenhere)andturnsOFFthechargerifthevoltagereaches13.8volt.Thebatterychargingvoltageofthe
chargercanbevariedbyadjustingthevariableresistor.

Positiveterminaloftheuppercomparatorof555isconnectedwithreferencevoltageinordertoturnOFFthe

Ifthebatteryvoltageisgreaterthan13.8V,comparatoroutputgoeshighandflipflopwillbeset.Thisturns
OFFthetransistorandtherelay.ForunderstandingrelayworkingseeHowtoconnectrelay:Relaysworking
withanimation

Ifthebatteryvoltageisbelowthepresetvoltage(setbyus),lowercomparatorwillresettheflipflop.This
turnsONthetransistorandtherelaywillswitchtochargethebattery.

Therechargevoltage(presetvoltage)cansetbyvaryingthevariableresistor.

IcannotgiveanyanswerwithoutseeingyourUPSboard.Hereismysuggestion,chargetheUPSbatterywiththeexternal
chargerindependentlywhenchargingisrequired.Afterchargingreconnectbatterytotheupsboard.

IfyoucanidentifythechargingcomponentsoftheUPSboard,thenyoucanconnectexternalchargerinparallewiththe
batterywithoutremovingUPSconnection.
