EFL in writing. Pennington (1991b) lists the attributes of the word processing
medium that can provide favorable conditions for writers: it combines the properties
of a typewriter, has a variety of functions for modifying text, and provides an on-
screen representation of text, a prompter, an expandable memory, and a printer. it
