The ancient Inca civilization created in Peru was founded in 1200 CE and flourished in

1400 CE to 1532 CE. This is also when their empire went from Quito in the north to Santiago in

the south in South America. It is said in myth that the Inca were created by the sun god, Inti,

who sent his son Manco Capac to Earth through the middle of three caves in the village of

Paccari Tampu. After killing his brothers, , Manco Capac led his sisters and their followers

through the wilderness before settling in the fertile valley near Cusco circa 1200, (History.com

Staff, 2015. http://www.history.com/topics/inca). The Inca started growing in land by the time

their 4th emperor, Mayta Capac. It truly started to grow by their 8th leader, Viracocha Inca.

The Inca kept a list of all of their kings. It is possible that there could have been two

kings and the the queens might have had something to do with that but the Spanish records are

not clear, (Mark Cartwright, published on 15 September 2014.

http://www.ancient.eu/Inca_Civilization/). The Sapa Inca was their one true leader(king) he

would live the most luxurious life he would drink out of gold or silver cups he had sliver shoes,

basically anything he wanted he would have. Even their deaths and burials were like the ones of

the pharaohs in Ancient Egypt meaning the king would be mummified and they used the best

wraps and perfumes they had available. The Incas government was much like their architecture

(interlocking) meaning the Sapa Inca was not the only leader. The next lower level of

government was the Panaqa ( the kings noblemen) they ruled alongside the Sapa Inca. Next

were another set of noblemen/ women that were under those noblemen. The lowest leadership

was the local administrators who would report to the higher ups. They consisted of over 80 men

and women who would report to 10 noblemen/ women who would then report to the Sapa Incas

10 Panaqa. The Inca were basically a hierarchy in power.

The Inca would make pilgrimages to their Sun God Inti their supreme god. They would

also make pilgrimages to their moon goddess Mama Kiyla. Their high priest of the sun who

was right under the king would see that the pilgrimages would be brought through so that natural

disasters wouldnt happen to them.

The Inca would build walls with finely carved bricks. These bricks were so fine no

mortar was needed and this was for their defensive walls. The Inca were a very economically

wealthy empire and they had many mining, farming and building jobs. They were like I said

earlier a very intertwined empire meaning they didnt really have social groups to differ from.
