Invites applications for
IICT-Mech.Engg Skill (Process Plant Drafting using Autocad)

As a part of CSIR-Integrated Skill initiative, a Certificate Course in Process Plant

Drafting using Autocad (Course Code : IICT-DE-201) is being offered under SKILL
DEVELOPMENT program. Online applications are invited from candidates, who are studying
3rd/4th year B.E./ B.Tech. (Mechanical and Chemical Engineering) and those who have
passed Diploma (Mechanical and Chemical Engineering).

About the Course : It is observed that the students studying and training for
mechanical/chemical engineering are inadequate in many skills required for accurate
and efficient creation and understanding of mechanical drawings for the chemical
process industry. Moreover, computer aided drafting exposure is also woefully
lacking. This has a direct impact on their employability and remuneration. It is to fill
this gap between academics and industry; this program will prove to be very useful.
The Certificate course is practical intensive with around 30 hours of hands on
experience per week. Enough theoretical basis to understand the principles of
mechanical drawings applied to process industry is ensured through 3-4 contact
lectures per week.

Outcomes :
Experience on the latest version of Autocad 2D drafting software
Acquisition of skill to read, understand and create basic process plant
drawings
Opportunity to work on real commercial plant drafting
Adequate skills in Autocad 2D software to take the Autocad Certified User
Exam

Evaluation of the Trainees : Evaluation will be through continuous assessment in the use
of Autocad 2D drafting software and creation of real process plant designs.
Certification : A certificate will be issued to the successful candidates at the end of the
course.

Selection Procedure : The selection process will be as per CSIR rules. The short-
listed applicants will be called for an interview (No TA/DA will be paid). The eligibility
criteria for the candidates minimum 55% in Engineering and Diploma (Mechanical
and Chemical Engineering) candidates. Students who are studying 3rd / 4th year B.E /
B.Tech (Mechanical and Chemical Engineering) may also apply. Age limit is 28
years as on 30-03-2017 (upper age limit relaxable upto 5 years for SC/ST/Women
and 3 years for OBC candidates). Maximum intake of the candidates is 20.
How to apply : The application form is available on the CSIR-IICT website
(www.iictindia.org). The selected candidates will be admitted to the proposed course
on payment of Rs. 6000/-. Payment details (DD or wire transfer to Director, CSIR-
