4mm hook - ch = chain
9 mm safety eyes - sc = single crochet
worsted weight yarn in yellow, brown and black - inc = increase
red felt for cheeks (or red yarn) - dec = decrease
hot glue gun for cheeks - st = stitch
scissors - F/O = fasten off
tapestry needle - ( ) = repeat
Head - { } = total # of stitches
1: 6sc in magic ring {6} - sl st = slip stitch
2: 2sc in each st {12}
3: (1sc, inc) around {18}
4: (2sc, inc) around {24}

7-12: 6 rows sc **place eyes between rows 10 &11 with 9 stitches in between

Tail
With brown, leave a few inches of yarn before starting, you will use this to sew
the tail to the body

2: sc in second from hook, sc across {4}
3: ch 1, turn, sc across {4}
4: ch 1, turn, ch 4 {8}
5: ch 1, turn, start in second st from hook 5sc - should have 2 sts left over)
change to yellow in last st {5}
6-7: ch1, turn, 5sc {5}
8: ch 1, turn, 5sc, ch 5 {10}
9: ch 1, turn, 7sc across - should have 2 sts left over {7}
10: ch 1, turn, sc across {7}
11: 3 rows sc {7}

Small Back Stripe

With Brown:
1: ch 5
2: turn, sl st, 2sc, sl st
F/O leave tail for sewing

Large Back Stripe

With Brown
1: ch7
2: sl st, 4sc, sl st
F/O leave tail for sewing
*Use whip stitch for sewing everything together, this creates a smooth finish
*The legs are shaped by making dimples in the body with yellow yarn
*The red cheeks are made from felt and hot glued on. If you would rather make
them from yarn that would work too.
Cheeks X2
With red yarn
6sc in ring, sl st with first st made, F/O and sew to face using whip stitch (this
way the cheek is flat with his face and makes a smooth finish)
