SYNOPSIS

This course is intended to provide students the knowledge on properties of water quality and selection of the
optimum dosage and pH that are related in designing water and wastewater treatment plant. The course also
teaches on the different approach measurement of air and noise pollution that contribute in environmental
degradation issues. Students through open ended problems are expected to design and conduct experiments,
analyze and interpret data and produce laboratory reports.

Course Outcomes PO2 PO4 PO9

Conduct experiment by using appropriate apparatus to establish
environmental related parameters.
Analyze data using appropriate analytical tools.
Work independently or as a team in organizing all data and
document all findings in structural manner

PROGRAMME OUTCOMES (PO)

Ability to identify, formulate and analyse complex civil engineering problems in
2 reaching substantiated conclusions using principles of mathematics, sciences and
engineering knowledge.
Ability to conduct investigation on complex civil engineering problems using
4 research-based knowledge including design of experiments, analysis and
interpretation of data, and synthesis of findings to provide valid conclusions
Ability to function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in
9
diverse teams and in multi-disciplinary settings.
