Programming Purpose:
Objective:
Children will increase their cognitive skills learning how to measure with cube and record
their findings.
Materials:
(1)Box of connecting cubs
(29) worksheets
(4) Dr. Seuss characters to be
measured
Opening (Introduction)
This activity will be set up around the classroom and I will call the students from
the list to work on their math with me.
Body (Content)
First the children will locate the Dr.Seuss characters around the classroom
Then with cubs they will need to measure how tall each character is
They will record their answers on their worksheet
They will repeat this until they finish all 4 characters measurement
Closing (Ending)
Thank you all for participating!

Transition
I will ask the students to place their worksheet in their file and then go back and play
What the students liked was that it was Dr.Seuss themed and playing with the cubes really
got them interested and thinking about how tall their measurement should be. This was a
great way to incorporate play-based learning. They also enjoyed hunting for the characters
around the room it made seem more of a game for them.
