VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

AMDA (Association of Medical Doctors of Asia) is seeking a dedicated person to work as a


CDF (Community Development Facilitator) for the “Maternal and Child Health
Program” in Kokang Special Region No (1).

1. Terms of Reference:

Starting Date 1st August 2010
Contract Period 1 year (1 month probation)

2. General Information
AMDA is the non-governmental, non-profit, non-political humanitarian organization
established since 1984 in Japan. AMDA specializes in the medical and health sectors, which
are often integrated in project implementation with such other sectors as education,
income generation, emergency supports, environment, and community development.
AMDA has been implementing its projects in central dry zone since 1995, and in Kokang
Special Region (1) since 2004.

3. Description of Vacant Position


The main responsibilities of this position will be:
• To play key role in the developments of the villages where you are assigned
• To facilitate the cycle of village level activities such as village tract meeting, planning workshops,
training, implementation and monitoring together with stakeholders
• To assist/report supervisors (CDF Team Leader) in the management of village level operations such as
survey and data collection, and
• To develop better relationship with community members, local authorities and other stakeholders

The applicant should have the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
• Minimum high school level of government school (10th Standard passed)
• Fluent in Kokang and Myanmar languages (both reading and writing), Fluent in Palaung or Myaung
Zee (Pae Zu) is more eligible.

• At least 1 years working experience, background and knowledge about the community development
activities or relevant fields
• Ability to work as part of a team and liaise with people of different levels and background
• Constructive and engaging character
• Good facilitating skills and communication skills, and
• Devotion to develop/maintain AMDA Myanmar’s core values
