I am going to sit the children down on the carpet and discuss
spring with them, while showing a visual of how a plant grows,
since flowers are associated with spring time. I will read the
print-out booklet the life cycle of a plant with the children
along with the drawn diagram, and afterwards, select some
children to go and complete their own booklet.
Objectives:
1. The children will further develop their cognitive skills by
further developing their general knowledge on the topic of
spring and flowers.
2. The children will continue to develop their cognitive skills
through scientific understanding, by familiarizing theirselves
with the life cycle of a plant.
3. The children will further enhance their aesthetic skills by
appreciating the arts while colouring their booklet as well as
appreciation for nature.
Materials:
- 1 Carpet
- 1 Drawn out diagram
- 1 Table
- 6 Chairs
- 6 Booklets
- 1 Basket of pencil crayons
Implementation:
1. I will read the booklet with the children after a discussion
about spring and flowers.
2. I will call over children to complete the booklet
3. The children will trace 2 words per page and colour in the
pictures and then read along with me after the booklet has
been completed.
Teaching strategies:
1. Telling, Explaining, and Informing
I will explain the change of seasons and introduce flowers to the
children, and explain the life cycle to them.
2. Environmental Ques
I will put 6 chairs at the table along with 6 booklets so the
children are aware of how many children should be at the activity
at a time.

Reflection: - The children really enjoyed the discussion of flowers and
