ThreeTaiwanesefishermenwererescuedyesterdayfromasmalluninhabitedislandintheSouthPacific.Themenhaddisappearedformore
thanthreemonths.TheyhadleftTaiwaninasmallfishingboatandhadplannedaweeklongtrip.Ontheirfifthday,however,theyencountered
atyphoon,anditbadlydamagedtheirboat.Fortunately,noonewashurt.Afterthestormhadpassed,theydiscoveredthattheenginewouldnt
start,sotheirboatjustdriftedatseaforoveramonth.
Duringthistime,thefishermencaughtfishtoeatanddrankrainwatertostayalive.Finally,theboatdriftedtowardasmallisland.Whenitgot
closeenough,themenjumpedoutandswamtoshore.Ontheisland,theyfoundfreshfruitandvegetables,andtheycontinuedtocatchfishto
eat.Thefishermenhadlivedontheislandfortwomonthswhenapassingshiprescuedthem.Althoughthethreemenhadlostalotofweight,
theywerestillinfairlygoodshape.Theirfamiliesfearedthatthefishermenhaddiedduringthetyphoon.Theyweresurprisedandhappythatthe
shiphadfoundthemandthattheyweresafeandsound.

Thebatterwaspouredintotwocaketins.Thecakeswerebakedintheovenfor45minutes.Afterthecakeshadcooled,chocolateicingwas
