Grade 9 Issues in Canadian Geography - Academic

Unit 2 Project

TASK
You will create ONE childrens storybook OR comic strip for children in Grade 2 or 3 (age 7-9)
that explains one of the tectonic or erosional forces from this unit. Your story should be age
appropriate, and have a proper beginning, middle and end.
Beginning: Introduce background information about events, settings or characters and the
event/decision that begins the storys plot or problem.
Middle: The main events in the story/comic and continuing the plot. Include a climax: The
most interesting or intense part of the story.
End: The main problem or plot begins to wrap up, resolve loose ends, and lead to closure.
Have a nice closing ending.

As for the illustrated portion of the assignment, your artistic skills are not being evaluated;
instead, you are being evaluated for presenting a well-thought-out, age-appropriate version of
the material from the unit, in which you clearly communicate using pictures and written text.

You may use digital or hand-drawn images (or a combination) for your pictures.
