To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing on behalf of Patrick Randolphs promise as a student affairs educator. I have had the
privilege to work with Patrick since the summer of 2016 in our shared role as Assistant Resident
Directors at Loyola University Chicago. Patrick has a deep passion for working with students,
which is evident in his approach to engagement and dedication to hard work.

I have been able to grow significantly closer to Patrick since the beginning of the Spring 2017
semester when our previously separate Residence Halls were combined under the supervision of
the same Resident Director. This time of transition for both of us included redefining our
responsibilities and accepting an increased workload. Patrick did not hesitate to offer me
assistance and support as I explored how to effectively balance my new role. He offered to
answer my questions and sit down for meetings all while he himself was being asked to take on
more responsibility than most other graduate students in our position. Patrick did not complain,
but welcomed the new challenges as a method of improving his time management skills and an
outlet to increase his interactions with students. This attitude is ever present in Patricks work.

Patrick has also exemplified his commitment to having intentional conversations with others
regarding social justice initiatives. With the Multicultural and International Learning
Communities being present in his community, Patrick has been able to work alongside students
and student staff who are committed to increasing their knowledge and understanding of the
world. Patrick benefits this student population because of his desire to constantly seek new
knowledge and to understand larger systems of privilege and oppression present within higher
education. Patrick is able to successfully challenge his students and peers to think more critically
about how society functions while also offering appropriate support. He does this because he
wholeheartedly believes that his role as a student affairs educator exists to positively impact the
students he interacts with.

I highly recommend Patrick as a promising student affairs educator, both personally and
professionally. His ability to hold meaningful conversations with students and peers and his
adaptability will be evident to whoever works with him. Patricks spirit and work ethic will be an
asset to any university who has the privilege of working with him.

Sincerely,
